Shimoda Park, Izu, Japan - Visit the flower sea in June
Large flowers form colorful flower walls taller than people. When you pass through, the petals gently brush against your skin, which is very gentle. No tickets are required, but there are not many people on weekends. It is quiet, and you can only hear the sound of rain, wind, and your own footsteps on the gravel road. It is said that 150,000 hydrangeas are planted in this park, which can produce 3 million flowers. You may laugh when you hear "absolute scenery," but the hydrangeas all over the mountains and plains here are worthy of this title.

Shimoda Park - Bathed in a Sea of Hydrangeas!
Located in Shizuoka Prefecture, Shimoda Park boasts 150,000 plants with over 100 varieties of colorful hydrangeas!
Every year during the rainy season, more than 3 million flowers bloom simultaneously, creating a breathtaking sea of hydrangeas!
The park is strategically situated on the hillside, offering an excellent view of Shimoda Port and the Shimoda cityscape. Surrounded by the vast clusters of hydrangeas, the beauty is unparalleled!
Each year, the 'Hydrangea Festival' is also held here. During the event, visitors can not only enjoy the hydrangeas covering the hills but also witness traditional Japanese dances known as 'Shimoda Geisha Dance' and performances of 'Ota Taiko' drums. It adds excitement and passion to the rainy season!
A three-hour drive, just for these 3 million spectacular hydrangeas? Aren't you tempted yet?
3 million hydrangeas are too spectacular 😳 It's been a long time since I posted a note, I was moved today, so I quickly posted one❣️
This is Shimoda Park in Shizuoka Prefecture, the one-way travel time from Tokyo is about 3 hours, although it feels a bit far, but this scale plus a small crowd, I personally think it's worth it✨
The flowering period has come to an end, but perhaps because they are protected by the shade of trees, so I didn't see many coffee-colored, scorched flowers, the overall look is still very good, recommended to travelers who want to appreciate hydrangeas this week~
Today because I wanted to take a special train, so I didn't stay in Shimoda Park for a long time, I had to put it on the list of future visits✨ If you also like hydrangeas, go for a walk in person in the future!
