Getting There - There are many tours that charge £50-£60 online. However there is a location where ‘big taxis’ that go long journeys are located near CTM bus station in rout de tetoun. Big Taxis which are 7 seaters that costs £6pp one way. They collect the money beforehand and it takes about 2 hours to get there. Attractions - the blue city is an attraction itself, there is no fee to enter you just walk in and roam around. There are waterfalls located here too. Hotels - N/A Food & Restaurants - There are many restaurants and food here, you can find all kinds of Moroccan food and some restaurants have an upstairs if you want a view. There are also restaurants near the river and waterfalls. Shopping - The whole of Chefchouen has street vendors selling clothes, gifts and souvenirs you can buy and haggle. I really enjoyed this place but i have to warn you than the journey here has great views but the lack of straight roads may require you to take sickness pills as its very mountainous. The restaurant offers the best variety of local and international cuisine, and has a balcony sitting overlooking the nature of the blue city at decent price. Friendly staff approach and greet you when you just come in the restaurant, and customers are free to sit anywhere. I had ordered a shrimp tagine and a banana shake. Tagine is a Moroccan cooking vessel that is conical in shape and acts as a slow cooker. Traditionally, tagine is both the pot and the food that is cooked in it and uses Moroccan bread to scope up the meat, vegetables and sauce. Normally, chicken, beef and lamb are common meats used in tagine cooking. Banana shake is not so cold, but the shrimp tagine taste nice, when you soak your bread into it.

Plaza Uta el Hamman is the main square of the medina of Chefchaouen, this wonderful square is a great place to just bask and explore, it is filled with restaurants, souvenir shops and sidewalk cafes some with a terrace ( rooftop ) sitting and comfortable places to just relax. The Grand Mosque of Chefchaouen, which the minaret has an octagonal shaft, is the oldest mosque in the area, occupies an area of around 130 square meters. ( Only Muslim can enter the building) The incredible kasbah construction date in 1471, once a fortress protecting the area, featuring towers, many arches, domes and passageways to explore.

A short walk from Bab El Onsar around 150 meters 3 minutes, you will see a public place for cleaning clothes and mattresses on the banks of the Ras El Ma valley. You can have part of the Chefchaouen town view from here, and there are a lot of juice stalls in this area selling Pomegranate juice, orange juice and many more. Cafes and restaurants are around the pool, and you can sit on the pool for your drinks and foods, be careful it may be slippery. Some of the locals still have their washing of laundry around here, and visitors can rent their Moroccan woman traditional clothing for photo shooting.

Bab El Onsar is a gate which was built in the 16th century, located northeast of the Medina, and is around 500 meters 8 minutes walk from Place Outa El Hamam. The main crafts of Chefchaouen are woven cloth and wool, which are then crafted into bedsheets, blankets, rugs, and clothing, and appreciated by locals and tourists. Along the walkway are occupied by little bazaars that sell local crafts, arts, clothing, and traditional souvenirs. It's a treat for the eyes to see all the colorful wares being displayed against the blue walls. At times it can feel a bit claustrophobic as there does not have much space to walk, when all the wares are out for display.

I've been to a yellow ancient city of Hoi An in Vietnam, yellow is believed to be the colour of prosperity, then I went here the blue-tiful city of Chefchaouen in Morocco, where blue is believed to be the reminder to lead a spiritual life as it represent the sky and heaven. It is a perfect place to wonder and take nice pictures, i must say it is worth it to go up to the mountain to see this magical city and definitely a very touristy place. We drove for 2 hours from Tangier, and booked 1 night hotel stay at Aymane Rooftop. It was a nice small roadtrip up to the mountain. Before arrival, we though there would be some white and blue accents on the building like those in Greece, but when we got there, man they were not stingy with the blue..it is basically everywhere, from the walls, to the vases, chairs, benches, post boxes, trash cans etc. We spent 2 days roaming the city, people watching, enjoying the delicious food and hanging out with the locals. It is a super friendly place and so vibrant. There are a few things you can do: 1. Take a guided tour 2. Sample local food 3. Sunset at Spanish Mosque 4. Enjoy the city view from Kasbah To get to Chefchaouen is easy. There are daily buses to Fes, Tangiers and Casablance. I also saw it in a book about amazing views or in photos on the internet a long time ago, and learned about the existence of a city with a blue worldview. I wanted to go there someday, so I headed for Morocco. I was excited to be on the African continent for the first time. For now, it's my first and last visit to the African continent, but I wanted to go to this city, so I headed for Morocco 🇲🇦. There are tours from Japan, so I recommend taking a tour if you're not used to traveling. As you can see in the photo, this blue city is blue everywhere. I stayed in Chefchaouen and took this photo early in the morning, but it's crowded with many tourists during the day. Known for its iconic blue-washed homes with red tiled roofs, the little town of Chefchouraen is a true desert gem. It’s about a 7-hour drive from Marrakech, but it was one of my favorite stops in Morocco and was absolutely worth the trek. Stay for at least two nights to really appreciate the peaceful and charming Chefchouaen vibes. The best way to do Chefchouaen is to not make plans, and spend your days getting lost within its windy maze of cobblestone streets, photographing the beautiful blue houses and adorable kittens, and dining under twinkly lights strung over quaint courtyards. You’ll almost feel like you’ve been transported to a small Italian village, but for the smells of tagine and the artisans selling Moroccan rugs and the fact that basically everything is blue. Catch sunset from a neighboring hill and watch the city begin to light up, house by house, as evening calls to prayer echo through the mountains. The lookout point at the Spanish Mosque is spectacular but also incredibly popular, so if you want more privacy just hike up or down the hill a bit to get away from the crowds. #awesomepic
