I spend half day walked around Chinatown and was amazed with its rich history, colorful streets, and diverse culinary offerings, Chinatown is a must-visit destination for travelers seeking an authentic cultural experience and local food delicacies. Chinatown's architecture is a captivating blend of baroque and Victorian styles. Stroll down Pagoda Street and Temple Street to admire the beautifully restored, colorful shophouses that tell stories of the past. Recommended to explore the Maxwell food court just right to Maxwell MRT station for local dishes. Maxwell Food Centre is home to some of Singapore’s best hawker stalls. It’s lauded by both locals and tourists as THE hawker centre to go to if you want to savour true blue Singaporean food. We don’t have to say much, because the queues at some of these stalls speak volumes!Should try out the famous Tiantian Chicken Rice, Dimsum, Chinese Traditional Dessert, Rojak, etc.

One of the recommended places I've visited in Singapore with my family last year was Chinatown. We spent most of our time shopping for affordable souvenirs and trying out delicious food as there are so many shops to choose from. One of the restaurants we went to has colourful hanging decorations. It was amazing to look at! While strolling in the streets of Chinatown, we stumble into a beautiful infrastructure with exceptional exterior design. It was massive! It is called the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum, enriched with Buddhist art and history. It takes less than 10 minutes walk from the Chinatown MRT station. Entry in the temple grounds is free, but ensure that you wear appropriate clothing. You can take a train and alight at the Chinatown station. The mall is crowded as always. There is a lot of good food here that you should try. We queued up to have the song fa bak ku teh meal. It was one of the best bak ku teh in town. We enjoyed the pepper spicy soup with the tender meat. There is the value dollar shop, and the Daiso two dollar shop which helps us save a lot. There is a supermarket at the basement floor to shop for your household items. We love this mall and we hope to come here more often.

SG weather is too hot for hot pot in the afternoon? Why not trying a cold dessert pot! This dessert place is newly ( fairly new ) opened at Chinatown, just happened to walk pass and decided to give it a try. Well I guess I’ll say it’s a good experience but not sure if I’ll come back again 😅 The design of this place is very nice and cozy, staffs are very friendly as well. But I think the dessert is average, the mango sago is too think, the mango taste is not strong enough and the smoothie is not smooth enough as well. But thankfully it’s still cold enough to beat the heat. The “cold” pot is interesting, it has all the ingredients from the shop, interestingly, they use coconut milk as a base which I’m not too fancy about it. And this dessert is not sweet at all, maybe , for some of you it’s good that’s it’s not sweet, but I think will be nicer if it’s abit sweeter. Overall I think it’s a not too bad experience, but can skip if you’re not too big a fan.

As it is near my working place, it’s definitely a convenient place to catch up with friends after a long day. I would say that it’s a nice place to chill and enjoy the evening. It’s also a walking distance to the Chinatown streets with mini bazaar tents and souvenir shops.

I like the convenience of Chinatown MRT as it is also a train interchange with 2 MRT lines. It is also a good way to go around Chinatown without crossing the road under the hot sun. This MRT station is also user-friendly to strollers and wheelchairs so it really benefits the elderly and children. 2023’s lunar new year arrived really in January and we managed to catch a glimpse of the festive decorations around Chinatown in Singapore. First the main lantern always in the middle of the traffic junction. Next the 12 different animal zodiac that tells people about their luck or misfortune of the year 😂. Next the most famous pair of otter in Chinatown, always being recycled into different characters to fit the season. ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLY is the way to go.
