Dongqian Lake is in Yinzhou district of Ningbo. it’s fairly easy to get to, buses run from the main city area down to the lake throughout the day, Didi can be taken from various points of Ningbo, or Subway line 4 reaches Dongqian Lake but not in the central part of the lake. A Didi from Jiangbei Wanda takes around 1 hour and costs about 90RMB (traffic dependant). Once at the lake, take a walk down the scenic path towards the waterfall, this path currently has a lot of construction happening around it, which does ruin some photos. There is also a temple to visit down in the scenic area. After this, head into the main village of Dongqian Lake to see the old Ningbo life and visit 1 of the 2 coffee shops just on the lake front. Serene and eerie

Dongqian lake is easiest to explore by car. The lake area is a relaxing scenic area where lakeside activities can be done. However, there are also hidden gems along the lake area like small villages that remain untouched by many modern changes. The lake is located a short drive away from Ningbo ; around 45 mins away. The lake itself is very large and as such, it's really serene and feels very spacious. Along the lake, one can do many outdoor activities such as biking. It's a very scenic area and on foggy days, it's extremely serene, yet eerie, giving the area a very mysterious atmosphere. The lake area also includes several other hidden attractions, which is why a car will allow you to fully experience the area. For instance you'll pass by lovely tea growing farms. The true highlight is a small village that seems to be a walk back in time. The old streets and buildings make you feel like you're back in a simpler time. They make for great pictures, especially against a misty and foggy backdrop. Overall, Dongqian lake is a very lovely scenic area with more than just a lake. It has three mountains and one lake. The overall design style is like a Jiangnan garden🚶with that quaint charm🍂The white walls and black tiles are scattered in an orderly manner. It also faces Dongqian Lake and is very photogenic~Of course the hotel Although it is big, there is a shuttle bus at your doorstep, which is quite convenient🚍 I also like the wooden elements in the room, and the warm style🍁The landscape balcony faces the lake directly, and you can watch the sunset. It directly fills the vacation atmosphere. When you are tired, you can go to the SPA with friends, and there is also an indoor constant-temperature swimming pool. Dongqian Lake is a very good day trip! Doesnt matter where you start just follow the roads and you endup somewhere cool! This time i went to explore the village and stumbled upon a nunnery at the top of the village, find the big yellow building and go behind it, youll get on to an Amazing observation deck overseeing the lake on a good day ✌️ You can take taxi or a bus 901/907 to get to the main entrance, but better to start at the other side and walk through the village first in my opinion. Please make sure the walking path through the lake is pone as I went after the typhoon, so it was closed. Locals use the back hill if you dont want to use the main street, tourist dont go there much as its technically farm land. The service is also excellent, and they even gave us a lovely farewell gift when we checked out! Amazing stay experience The outdoor movie and bonfire party are super romantic, and the village is filled with the fragrance of osmanthus flowers, creating a sweet atmosphere. Couples shouldn't miss it! You can also rent a bike nearby and cycle around the lake, feeling like you're in Monet's garden. Great for family trips The small water park has a roof, and the kids had a blast. The room is spacious and comfortable, and sitting in the room with a view of the mountains instantly relaxes you. ▲ I must come back in spring to see the rapeseed flowers and try the special fried rice and glutinous rice balls!

Dongqian Lake is located in the southeast of Ningbo City, surrounded by mountains. It was called "Qian Lake" in ancient times because it received water from Qian Dike. It was also called "Wanjin Lake" because of its abundant resources. It was called "West Lake" in the Tang Dynasty because the county seat was in Maoshan and the lake was to the west of the county seat. It was called "East Lake" in the Song Dynasty because the county seat was at the mouth of the Sanjiang River and the lake was to the east of the county seat. Dongqian Lake is a sea trace lake left over from the geological period. After generations of lake management, it is now 8.5 kilometers long from south to north and 4.5 kilometers wide from east to west.
