First Cliff Walk
#thingstodo
Beautiful cable car ride up the mountain. We went snowboarding at Grindelwald First. It was an incredible experience! I highly recommend checking out Grindelwald First, whether it is sightseeing or snow activities. You won't be disappointed
This was such a cool experience!!! My husband is scared of heights but he was very brave and I don’t think he regrets doing it. It seems very safe and structurally sound, the bridge does sway as you go across it. The views are breathtaking here and if no one is around it is so quiet! I really enjoyed the experience and it ends up at the restaurant and the store which is cool, you can only go in one direction so if you want to do it again you can just loop around. They say the full loop takes about 20 mins and I think that’s about right. It doesn’t cost to do this when you get up to the first, so you can do it all you’d like!
Amazing place to check out. You do need to spend about 85 swiss $ to get to the top but you can get there by hiking for free I think.
Make sure you get tickets to the cart ride or any adventure ticket because they sell out fast and close early

What does the word ‘Tissot’ reminds you of?
What does the word ‘Tissot’ reminds you of? Watches? Nope, it is the spectacular First Cliff Walk by Tissot 🤩
If you are a fan of Crash Landing on You, then this a must-go place!! This amazing cliff walk allows you to feel the thrill as you are walking along a suspended bridge and enjoy the mountainous views all around you. 🏔😍
Do remember to book your tickets in advance for the gondola from Grindelwald to First and do check that it is open prior to heading there as the gondola may be on maintenance. 🚨

Top 3 Reasons Why Hiking in the Swiss Alps Should always Be on Your List
#magicalxmastrip #switzerland
The Swiss Alps are the ultimate playground for nature lovers and adventurers. If you need a little extra push to grab your boots and hit the trails, here are three unbeatable reasons why hiking here should be at the top of your bucket list.
1. Jaw-Dropping Scenery
Imagine walking through landscapes that look straight out of a fantasy movie—snow-capped peaks, rolling green meadows, crystal-clear lakes, and wildflowers carpeting the trails. The views at every turn are so spectacular you’ll constantly find yourself pausing to take it all in (or to snap yet another photo for Instagram). Highlights like the shimmering Bachalpsee Lake or the towering peaks surrounding Lauterbrunnen are worth every step.
2. A Challenge Worth Taking
Hiking in the Swiss Alps isn’t just about the views—it’s about the sense of accomplishment. Whether it’s conquering the First Cliff Walk in Grindelwald or scaling a tough trail like Eiger Trail, you’ll finish your day with tired legs and a big, goofy grin. Plus, the fresh mountain air is good for the lungs and the soul.
3. Alpine Delights Await
You can’t hike on an empty stomach, and the Swiss Alps have got you covered. Quaint mountain huts dot the trails, serving up gooey fondue, fresh pastries, and the creamiest hot chocolate you’ll ever taste. Refuel while basking in those epic mountain views—it’s a reward you’ll crave long after your trip.
With trails for every skill level and beauty at every corner, the Swiss Alps are a hiker’s dream come true!

A Day of Alpine Adventures: Exploring the Swiss Alps
#europetrip
Waking up in the heart of the Swiss Alps feels like stepping into a postcard—towering peaks, crisp air, and endless adventure await. A day out in this mountainous wonderland promises unforgettable moments at every turn.
Start your morning with a scenic ride on a cable car up to First in Grindelwald. The panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and emerald valleys will leave you breathless before you’ve even begun your hike. Lace up your boots and take the trail to the picturesque Bachalpsee Lake. The lake mirrors the surrounding mountains, creating a stunning reflection that feels almost too perfect to be real.
For the thrill-seekers, the First Cliff Walk is a must. This suspension bridge hugs the cliffs and offers dizzying views of the valleys below. It’s a heart-pounding experience that will have you clutching your camera tightly.
Afterward, treat yourself to a hearty Swiss lunch in a mountain hut. Fondue, anyone? Pair it with a steaming cup of hot chocolate while soaking in the breathtaking scenery.
As the afternoon light softens, make your way to Lauterbrunnen, the valley of 72 waterfalls. A stroll through this dreamy village, surrounded by cascading falls and charming chalets, is the perfect way to end your day.
The Swiss Alps aren’t just a destination—they’re a slice of heaven. Every moment here feels like magic, and by the day’s end, you’ll already be planning your next visit.

Alpine Wonders: Discovering Interlaken and Its Scenic Surroundings 📷
Interlaken is one of Switzerland’s most popular travel destinations. The town is nestled between two lakes and surrounded on all sides by mountains. 🏔️
Days could be spent in this small Swiss town as it’s an excellent base to explore the surrounding attractions. Here were my favorite locations on my 2 day Interlaken mini-break:
1️⃣ First Cliff Walk and surrounding hikes - Take the 30 minute train ride to Grindelwald and then take the gondola up to the First Cliff Walk. There are many hikes with spectacular views on top! Be sure to check the gondola operating times if you don’t want to walk down! 🚡
2️⃣ Rosenlaui - This one is a little bit further out but it’s definitely worth it! Take the train to Meiringen and then take the bus to Rosenlaui. The benefit to being slightly harder to reach is the lack of tourists!
3️⃣ Brienz - I made a stop at Brienz on my way to Meiringen because I read online it’s home to the most beautiful street in the world. The town is small and quaint and definitely worth checking out.
4️⃣ Lauterbrunnen - Another unmissable stop and located about 25 minutes away from Interlaken. The village is quite walkable but be sure to check out the surrounding hikes. When you’re done, take the train up to Wengen for spectacular views of the Lauterbrunnen valley below. From Wengen, you can take the gondola over the mountain and down into Grindelwald at the other side.
Helpful Tip 💭: Switzerland has an excellent transport network, but it’s pretty pricy. It’s worth investing in the Swiss rail pass if you’re going to be there for an extended period. I opted for the half-fare card as I was in Switzerland for only five days. It meant I could use all transport in Switzerland for half the price. Check it out!
