We had fun on our daytour at Jinfo Mountain last weekend! It was a snowy week and so we took the chance to see the snow this year. It was Monday but there were so many people but the whole place was huge and we were able to take so many pictures!

Getting There - There is a direct bus from Chongqing long-distance Bus Station to Nanchuan, departing every day from 8:30am till late. From Nanchuan you can find many local buses heading to the mountain. When the sunshine falls on the Grand Jinfo Mountain, it looks like a giant Buddha shining with boundless golden radiance, hence the name. The entire scenic area has two slopes with distinctive attractions for sightseeing. @VickWalks and I spent the entire day trying to find a trail that hasn’t been stepped on for a long time and we failed due to limited knowledge of the mountain landscape of this area. Getting There - Jinfo mountain is located in Nanchuan which is 2 hours away from Chongqing inner city. During the Summer it’s beautiful clear endless sky and in winter there is lots of snow! This scenic hike will definitely be worth the time with cableways to help you to the higher levels. Attractions - Skiing, hiking, cable way, Giant Golden Buddha Hotels - Just outside the gate is a hot spring and hotel perfect for relaxation after the mountain. Jinfo Temple is located inside of Jinfo Mountain or Golden Buddha Mountain Scenic Spot, the temple is secured totally undeground, do not miss it!

#hikingtime This is one of the most characteristic and representative scenic spots in the Jinfo Mountains. Compared to other stone forests, there are also stone peaks and stone curtains, and the landscape resembles a stone forest. But the difference is that the local stone forest is a symbiotic miracle, full of vitality, like a sage hidden in the primeval forest of the sky and the sun. This is a real Shilin forest (Shilin 石林, which means stone forest), with many fantastic compositions of bamboo, moss, trees reaching up to the sky and making their way through granite boulders with their roots. From this place, you can go out onto the road and take a minibus to any end of the park at the top of the plateau that is really interesting.
