🧎🏻 Dive into becoming Poet for a day
#chinatrip
After visiting the 1000years temple - Hanshan Temple, there is this huge bell that is actually the sub-site of this temple. Reason being the chinese poem does mention the sound of the bell that reminded the poet about the arrival of the ship by the ship deck at late hour while waiting for someone that poet misses.
The huge bell was covered in a small pagoda and were well kept for its purpose. To add-on, there is this huge stone carved with the poem about less than 200metres away. Strongly recommend to also visit this place before leaving to next destination.

A temple fulls of Chinese poem ♥️
#chinatrip
Located in Gusu district in Suzhou, Han Shan temple that built for over 1300 years, covering 13000 square meters is one of the top 10 famous temple in China. It has gained its popularity among the Chinese people because of a poem from a famous poet, Zhang Ji from Tang Dynasty and nowadays, it has been written all over the temples by many poets in variety of fonts.
Besides that, the temple is famous with a super giant bell that allows the believer to ring it and pray to get the blessing from the god. Right opposite of it, a super huge monument writing the poem on it is also towering over to commemorate ZhangJi.
If you travel to Suzhou, make sure you put it in your list and spend a least 2-3 hours to explore the poetic and picturesque place♥️

Suzhou attractions—Hanshan Temple
Hanshan Temple is famous both at home and abroad for Zhang Ji's "Night Mooring on Maple Bridge: The moon sets, crows cry and the sky is filled with frost, the river maple fishermen are facing melancholy, the Hanshan Temple outside the city of Suzhou, the midnight bell rings for the passenger ship." Therefore, Hanshan Temple is one of the must-visit attractions in Suzhou. However, many people feel that their interest in visiting is affected, which is a pity. Hanshan Temple also has a bell tower, which allows people to experience the midnight bells in poetry and the melancholy and desolate feeling of a passenger ship. #local游

Hanshan Temple one of the top visited temples
Getting There - You can take a Didi to the entrance, the metro is around a 20 minute walk, there are local coaches and buses running too
Attractions - Although it's busy there's also a sense of calm between the madness, there's endless temples to look into and pay respect to the gods, fish in small ponds and a variety of statues
Hotels - There are most likely several hotels in this area however I didn't stay here, it'll be cheaper to stay outside the city center
Food & Restaurants - there are some small street food vendors outside selling local snacks and drinks
Price - 20 rmb per person

More sight from the Hanshan Temple!
The Hanshan temple is a really huge tourist location, it’s located towards the western part of Suzhou, this location is one that I found was really good for photography. you can see many different spots around the area that are highly photogenic.
I Definitely recommend that you visit this place during the spring time, a time which I feel you would experience this temple at its finest.
I visited this spot with my photography buddy and walked around and got these awesome shots.
One thing is that this spot can get pretty crowded. so many tourists and locals come to visit this spot which sometimes makes it really crowded so you have to find the right time to come if you mind having random tourists walk into your shot. #scenicspotguide #travelinspiration #momentsmission #unforgettableexperiences #springholiday

The Hanshan Temple. Suzhou from Above!
This was one of the most aesthetically impressive places that I’ve been privileged to fly my drone at. this majestic place is located in the Gusu district of Suzhou China.
This is a Buddhist temple and Monastery characterized by its wonderful Chinese structures and its rich traditions and culture. The current name of the monastery derives from Hanshan, the legendary monk and poet.
Knowing all this, I was sure that I had to make the trip to see It for myself, and of course I took my drone with me so I would be able to get a unique perspective of the whole experience!
The general temple are was free to enter, except for the main temple which I could only properly capture from an aerial perspective. #suzhou #scenicspotguide #china #travelinspiration #temples #hanshantemple

📍Hanshan Temple, Suzhou
Hanshan Temple is also called “cold mountain temple”. It’s a Buddhist temple in Suzhou. This is one of my favorite temple. Even though I’m not a temple person, but I just like this temple. I like it because it’s just simple. Dominated by yellow and red. Not much decoration. It’s just simple and beautiful. I came here in December. It’s already cold enough and the leaves fell from the trees. The color of the leaves matched the temple (see my third pict). What a pretty combination

Suzhou Travel|You Have to Visit Hanshan Temple
🔖The most impressive thing about Hanshan Temple is the poem "A Night Mooring by Maple Bridge" in my elementary school Chinese textbook: "Outside Gusu City, Hanshan Temple, the sound of the midnight bell reaches the guest boat." Since the hotel I stayed at was near Hanshan Temple, I had to visit it|A pure land, a stick of incense, may all your wishes come true‼️

📍Location: No. 24 Hanshansi Lane, Gusu District, Suzhou, Jiangsu Province
🚗Transportation: I took a taxi there. I don't recommend driving there, as there are traffic jams on weekends and holidays, and it's hard to find a parking space.
🎫Ticket price: CNY 20|Book online in advance
🎉Opening hours: 07:30–17:30, last entry at 17:30.

🌈Hanshan Temple was built in the Liang Dynasty of the Southern Dynasties, with a history of more than 1,500 years. The name of Hanshan Temple comes from two eminent monks, Hanshan and Shide, in the Tang Dynasty. It covers an area of about 13,000 square meters, with a building area of more than 3,400 square meters. It is a model of Buddhist culture dissemination and a must-see attraction in Suzhou.
🌈Hanshan Temple is a national 4A-level tourist attraction and is listed as one of the top ten temples in China for its historical relics.
-
✅Recommended route:
🎉Both the east and west gates of Hanshan Temple are accessible. It is recommended to enter and exit from the west gate, so you can visit all the attractions in order and quickly reach the Maple Bridge Scenic Area. The popular photo spot of Hanshan Temple is also at the west gate.
1️⃣Mahavira Hall: The main building of the temple, enshrining the Buddha Sakyamuni. Feel the solemn atmosphere and admire the exquisite Buddha statues and murals in the hall.
2️⃣Sutra Library
3️⃣Bell Tower: Separate ticket required, experience ringing the bell
4️⃣Poetry Stele Gallery: Poetry steles left by literati and poets of past dynasties.
5️⃣Puming Pagoda: Overlook the beautiful scenery of Hanshan Temple. Walk around the pagoda clockwise to pray for blessings, admire the "A Night Mooring by Maple Bridge" copied by calligraphers, and feed koi fish. Fish food is CNY 10 per pack.

🔖The architectural layout of Hanshan Temple does not have a strict central axis. The architectural decoration of Hanshan Temple is expressed with the theme of Buddhism, mainly including wood carving, stone carving, clay sculpture, painting, and other forms.
🔖Steles of Hanshan Temple: There are many steles in the temple, engraved with inscriptions and poems by literati and poets of past dynasties. These steles are not only treasures of calligraphy art but also record the historical changes of Hanshan Temple.

📌Tips:
🔘Best time to visit: Early morning, when you can avoid the crowds and quietly feel the tranquility of the temple. It is far away from the hustle and bustle, and you will feel very peaceful.

How many people came to Suzhou because of this poem? 🍂
Am I the only one who finds the vegetarian noodles at Hanshan Temple delicious?
The bamboo shoots are crispy and sweet, the mushrooms are fresh, and the chili oil is especially fragrant 🤩
It's a delicious taste that I can't replicate 🤤 Noodle lovers will be thrilled~

The temple is filled with towering ancient trees and an imposing bell tower, with the sounds of morning bells and evening drums seemingly narrating millennia-old stories. • Train stations: Suzhou Station, Suzhou New District Station, Suzhou North Station, Suzhou Industrial Park Station. Choose according to your needs.
• Subway and bus: Suzhou's subway and bus systems are very convenient, and you can pay by scanning a QR code. We recommend downloading the "Su e Xing" app to check subway congestion, train status, and other services.
Travel Tips 🚫
• Xiyuan Temple Vegetarian Noodles: Only available from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. We recommend going early to avoid crowds. If you arrive early, you can worship first.
• Eslite Bookstore: A popular Suzhou landmark. The long escalator is perfect for photos. You can visit before going to Jinji Lake to see the night view.
• Lion Grove Garden: Perfect for families with children. The garden has many rockeries that children will love.
• Tiger Hill Ginkgo: The ginkgo trees have turned yellow, and the red maple trees in Xie Garden are in full bloom. The best time to take photos is between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
• Hanshan Temple: More crowded than Xiyuan Temple, but a good option for first-time visitors to Suzhou. It is very close to Xiyuan Temple.
• Suzhou Museum: The museum has two sections, the main building and the west building. The main building, designed by I. M. Pei, is better for photos. Reservations are required.
• Pingjiang Road: There are many photo spots with the word "Suzhou".
• Shantang Street: The lights turn on after 5:00 pm. It gets dark early in Suzhou, so we recommend arriving around 5:30 pm.
Food Recommendations 🍲
• Shuangta Market: We recommend Da Niang Niang (taro mochi balls), Lao Ke Man (egg-filled pancakes), Tang Zhi Fang (begonia cake), and Qing Nian Chun (Biluochun milk tea).
• Qian Yuman · Old School Suzhou Cuisine: About a 3-minute walk from Shantang Street. We recommend Grandma's Braised Egg and Pig Trotters, Three-color Shrimp and Tofu, Giant Handmade Lion's Head, Bamboo Duck, and Peach Blossom Wine. Grandma's Braised Egg and Pig Trotters are especially good. The pig trotters are soft and chewy, and the eggs are flavorful.
