Lishui | My colleague said I'm too young to be visiting places like this!
|My colleague said I'm too young to be visiting places like this! I went to Zhouyuan in Lishui over the weekend while the weather was nice. It's a bit out of the way, about 1.5 hours' drive from Yangzhou. As soon as I entered the garden, it was like time slowed down. Every brick and tile exudes a sense of history and culture. It's no wonder it's known as the "Forbidden City of the South."
The garden is a wonderful combination of Buddhist culture and Huizhou architecture. Zhouyuan is home to a wide range of ancient cultural artifacts, including stone carvings, wood carvings, jade carvings, ancient beds, classical furniture, Buddha statues, and murals. Every scene is perfect for photos.
Open all year round: 8:00–17:00, Monday to Sunday
Tickets: CNY 79 (free for children under 1.4 meters)

Visiting this garden in Lishui gives you a taste of Chinese horror
Lishui Zhou Garden, with its name already maxing out the horror vibe, has tickets that are indeed not cheap, as it is a private garden attraction, and disability certificates do not enjoy free admission, only a 50% discount.
However, to be honest, after taking a tour, you'll feel it's truly worth it, with a very shocking experience. Especially the various huge stone statues.
! Suggestion: Be sure to pick a sunny holiday to visit, when it's crowded, so you can enjoy it with others, otherwise it's really a bit scary. Especially the exhibition hall with the huge ancient wooden bed, I really don't dare to walk in there alone haha. Brave ones can come for an adventure haha.
