Pay respect and ask for blessings from Luang Pu To, Wat Rakhang, Ayutthaya period
Wat Rakhang Khositaram Worawihan (Wat Rakhang)
An ancient temple from the Ayutthaya period, located in Siriraj Subdistrict, Bang Khun Non District, Bangkok. It was originally named Wat Bang Wa Yai (or Bang Wa Yai), which was renamed “Wat Rakhang Khositaram” in the current reign.
There are two places to pay homage and ask for blessings from “Luang Pu To”: 🔸The area where you can pay homage and ask for blessings from the Buddha in front, and 🔸Phra Wihan Somdej Phra Phutthacharya To, which is where the statues of the three royal monks of this temple are enshrined: *Somdej Phra Phutthacharya (To Phrommarangsi) “Somdej To” *Somdej Phra Phutthacharya (M.C. That Seriwong) “Somdej Pilan” *Somdej Phra Phutthakhosacharya (M.R.W. Charoen Isarangkun)
Both places clearly display the sacred chanting of Luang Pu To’s Chinnabanchon mantra, so that those who have faith in Luang Pu To can understand. I have prayed for success in what I have intended.
Luang Por Yim Rap Fa is enshrined in the main Buddha image, an important sacred object of Wat Rakhang. It is praised for its beauty. In front of the Buddha image are the statues of 3 disciples, sitting with their hands together as if receiving a sermon from the Buddha.
Inside the temple are important sacred objects, places, and ancient sites of the temple, including: * Phra Wihan Somdej Phra Phutthacharya To (Somdej To, Somdej Pilan, Somdej Phra Phutthakhosachan) * Phra Ubosot (Luang Por Yim Rap Fa) * Phra Wihan (old Phra Wihan) * Phra Wihan Somdej Phra Sangkharat (Sri) * Bell Tower * Tripitaka Hall (during the reign of King Rama I) * Three Pagodas * Wat Rakhang Khositaram Museum (a building in honor of His Majesty the King by the river) under construction.
How to get to Wat Rakhang: There are 2 routes: by car and by boat. ⛴ Ann chose to take a ferry from Tha Chang Pier to Wat Rakhang. It felt like a tourist, sitting and enjoying the breeze and the view along the Chao Phraya River. In the area of Wat Rakhang, there is also Wang Lang Market where we can taste delicious food and shop for many products. There are shops, coffee shops, restaurants, hotels, and classic houses where we can take beautiful pictures. If you go there, you will be happy, full of merit, and full of stomach.
