🥀Yan Hua Pond was first built during the Tang Dynasty and flourished in the Song Dynasty, being a 1300-year-old official garden. It is also known as the 'Millennium Garden'! It is a landscape garden hidden in the bustling city, with a view at every step, featuring the landscape characteristics of Western Sichuan gardens as well as the style of gardens in the south of the Yangtze River.

❶S-shaped Bridge: The most typical scene in 'Dream of the Red Chamber'
❷Golden Gardenia, commonly known as Bottle Orchid❀: Located to the left of Lu You's Temple, planted during the Ming Dynasty's Hongwu period, about 640 years ago, it is the only golden gardenia tree over 500 years old in Sichuan.
❸The corridor next to the golden gardenia: It is the corridor leading to Grandmother Jia's residence in 'Dream of the Red Chamber', and there are Tang Dynasty Qiong kiln porcelain shards underneath, which are of great appreciation value.
❹Half Pond Autumn Water and One Mountain Room: A very elegant name! The clear pond on the right is in the style of Suzhou gardens, and the artificial mountain on the left features the landscape characteristics of Western Sichuan gardens. It's truly half Western Sichuan and half south of the Yangtze River.
❺Lu You's Temple, a must-visit for those who admire Lu You!
☑️We went there on the fifth day of the lunar month, not too crowded, and there were plum blossoms in the garden this season, not particularly many because the plum trees are tall and difficult to capture with a phone, but should be great with a camera.
☑️Right next to it is a food street, Xiao Dong Street. A local friend from Chongzhou recommended 'Lao Yang Jia' spicy hot pot, but it was not open. It opens on the eighth day of the lunar month, so we ate at the 'Xiao Ji' spicy hot pot across the street, which was also good, especially the instant noodles! Turning the corner to the T-junction leading to Yan Hua Pond, 'Huai Tai Tofu' is also delicious! Bought some other snacks, well, they were just okay, so I won't recommend them!
❗The snack street gets very crowded around 15:00 in the afternoon, so it's recommended to go in the morning.
🌲There are many ginkgo trees in Yan Hua Pond, which must be beautiful in autumn!
It's also particularly suitable for taking photos in Hanfu.

The Yanhua Pond in spring boasts century-old weeping begonia flowers
The Yanhua Pond Park has now been renamed to Yanhua Pond Museum, which is an ancient architectural complex that integrates gardens, shrines, and temples.
The Yanhua Pond garden has been the backyard of the Shuzhou government office since the Tang Dynasty, and during the Tang and Song dynasties, many famous poets visited here, leaving behind a large number of poems and writings. It is one of the best-preserved Tang Dynasty official gardens in China. It was destroyed by war during the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in the style of Jiangnan gardens during the Qing Dynasty restoration. It is said to be the only Jiangnan-style garden in Sichuan now.
During the Southern Song Dynasty, Lu You served as the deputy judge of Shuzhou and both lived and worked here, hence there is the only shrine dedicated to Lu You in the country.
The Wen Temple is the state Wen Temple, and it is one of the four best-preserved Wen Temples in the province.
The most popular time to visit Yanhua Pond is in autumn when the golden ginkgo leaves contrast with the red walls and black tiles. The ginkgo trees in the garden are mostly over a hundred years old, and those interested can try to find a few that are three hundred years old
The latest discovery is a century-old weeping begonia, which is currently in full bloom, with delicate pink flowers. It is surprisingly harmonious to see people dressed in Tang and Han costumes taking photos here

Highly recommended, it's right outside the Chengdu College of University of Electronic Science and Technology, not crowded and undiscovered, accessible by multiple bus routes, with flowers hanging down by the roadside, great for taking pictures.

A holy land for crabapple photography, with many flowers complementing the architecture.

Also a less popular spot for flower photography, enter the main gate and you'll find many crabapple trees, the flowers are a bit high, but the campus atmosphere is completely there.

The Yanhua Pond was originally built during the Tang Dynasty. The existing buildings were reconstructed in the Qing Dynasty. The official garden and Lu You Shrine, together with the Confucian temple, are located here. The Lu You Shrine is the only one of its kind in the country, and the Confucian temple is the only complete ancient Confucian temple in Chengdu. Every plant and tree in the garden is a view. Spring is the right time for crabapple and hydrangea blossoms, making it a great opportunity for taking photos and checking in.
Get off at Wansheng Station on Line 4 and take a taxi, or take bus 302 to Chongzhou Middle Road and then walk to reach the destination.
