The old town of Sitge
Sitges Old Town is a charming and picturesque neighborhood located in the heart of Sitges, a coastal town in Catalonia, Spain.
The old town is a maze of narrow streets and alleys, lined with white-washed houses with blue borders, ancient castles, and historic buildings from the Modernisme and Noucentisme movements.
The town’s most emblematic monument, the Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla Parish Church, stands at the Plaça Baluard square, which is also the entrance to the old town.
The town’s history is palpable as you stroll along its cobbled alleyways, with the sound of the sea as your company.
The town hall itself, built on the foundations and the supporting walls of the medieval castle, stands out at the Plaça de l’Ajuntament square.

【V-day】A short getaway near Barcelona
The village of Sitges is just a short 30 minutes train ride from downtown Barcelona.
Despite how close it is to the big city you can feel a much more local and calm tempo while wandering off its cobblestone covered streets.
During summertime the village gets packed with sunbathers and families looking for a beach escape, however the place is a lot quieter in winter.
This is precisely what makes Sitges a great choice for a Valentine’s Day getaway.
The sea, a benevolent weather, great gastronomic offer and plenty of choices for accommodations if you want to stay over the night.

Sitges beach with hot sunlight even in winter🌊 It's been a long time since I've seen a sky without any fine dust. If you go to Barcelona and don't go to Sitges❓ You'll really regret it❗️ Sitges beach is located near Barcelona, so you can get there in about 40 minutes by bus. For reference, I took the e16 bus from Plaça Catalunya👉 At first, I was worried because there weren't many reviews going to Sitges, but I took a million pictures as soon as I arrived〰

What kind of label should be given to the small town of Sitges? "Blue Glass Sea"
What kind of label should be given to the small town of Sitges? "Blue Glass Sea" should be a good answer!
Sitges is a seaside town in Spain, located 37 kilometers south of Barcelona, Spain. With warm sunshine, golden beaches, cool sea breezes, and clear, unpolluted sea surfaces, it boasts some of the best beaches in Spain.
The beautiful city center is made up of narrow streets filled with bars, restaurants, and shops. Unlike many other coastal towns in Spain, the architecture here has not been ruined by overdevelopment.
This is also the filming location for the Korean drama "The Legend of the Blue Sea." While watching that drama, I kept thinking that this beach felt so amazing, making me fall in love with it. The deep blue sea and the azure sky continuously extend to the farthest point, merging into one until you can't tell which is water and which is sky. The scene described as "The mist locks the mountain top, the mountain locks the mist; the sky connects to the water's end, the water connects to the sky" is exactly like this. This is also a middle-class villa area, gathering many wealthy art lovers. Around these wealthy patrons, there are often quite a few talented artists, which is why this place is called the "City of Art."
Sitges is one of the oldest gay venues in European history, dating back over 30 years. Recently, the town has undergone a significant transformation due to the summer gay parties moving from Ibiza. There are many gay bars and (relatively early) small dance clubs here to meet everyone's needs.
In the summer (from June to the end of October), gay nightlife starts at 10 PM, with most bars open until 3 AM, and dance clubs until sunrise. Many regular gay events are held here every year, including Sitges Gay Pride (June) and two annual international gay bear meetings.
In the first two weeks of August, when the beaches, bars, and hotels are full, gay activities reach their peak.
1. Train: From the BARCELONA-Pg de GRACIA station in the city center or the main train station ESTACION SANTS in Barcelona, take the suburban train R2sud (R2 train has three lines, R2sud is the southern line, the color is dark green) to Sitges station. There are trains from around 5:30 AM to 11:50 PM. The interval is about 15-20 minutes per train. The journey takes more than 30 minutes, and the round-trip ticket price is 3.2 euros. The Pg de Gracia station looks like a subway station from the outside, and there is a ticket office on the ground where you can buy tickets.
2. Bus: You can take the MON BUS long-distance bus to Sitges at the Rda.Universitat station next to Plaça de Catalunya (next to the Barcelona club store). The ticket price is 3.75 euros, and the journey takes 55 minutes. Additionally, there are stops at Urgell and Plaça Espanya (Spain Square). Sitges·Garraf

Sitges Sculpture Girl from Malvasia Escultura La C
Sitges Sculpture Girl from Malvasia Escultura La Chica de la Malvasia | Sitges
Passeig de la Ribera, 08870 Sitges Barcelona
This monument is a tribute to the people of Sitges who will work in the Malvasia collita, a grape variety that will sweep through Sitges from the beginning and become one of the six main sources of wealth. The sculpture depicts a bride carrying a basket of Lem grapes, with grape clusters embedded in the basket. At the base of the sculpture, there is a mosaic with an inscription by the poet Trinitat Catasús, which says: "When the wine grows its first vines, the night also has some light and restrained sweaters." This work reminds us of the Sitgetans who will work in the Malvasia collita. The image of the happy bride conveys the values of work and freedom. The work took more than half a year using the "lost wax" technique, weighs a total of 200 kilograms, and is primarily made of bronze. Sitges·Garraf

A beautiful church on the Mediterranean Coast
The Church of Sant Bartomeu & Santa Tecla is a 17th-century church located in the heart of Sitges, a coastal town in Catalonia, Spain.
The church is situated on a hill that dominates the coast and town, offering a stunning view of the Mediterranean sea.
The construction of the church began in 1665 and was completed in 1672. The church has undergone several renovations and additions over the years, including the addition of bells and watchtower in 1868.

The beautiful little town by the Mediterranean - Sitges
Sitges, foreign name: Sitges. Located 37 kilometers south of Barcelona, Spain. In summer, the beach here becomes the brightest landscape on the southern coast of Barcelona - covered with umbrellas and folding loungers, countless convalescents and tourists regard it as their holiday resort and paradise. During the Corpus Christi Festival in June, the streets and alleys are covered with flowers, and the small town becomes a colorful and fragrant garden.
In the desirable small town of Sitges, everything is so beautiful. A rose-colored church is located on the protruding cape, surrounded by white houses, like a blooming flower. This is a middle-class villa area, gathering many wealthy people who love art, and these wealthy economic aiders are mostly surrounded by many talented artists, which is why it is called the 'City of Art'. At the end of the 19th century, one of the founders of the '4 Little Cats' cafe, modernist painter Santiago Rusinol, settled here, which was once a gathering place for artists, musicians and writers.
The Sitges under the sunset is beautiful and moving. Sitges·Garraf
brianna.likes.acetylcholine In the charming coastal town of Sitges, the Mediterranean sun cast a warm glow over everything. Strolling along the picturesque promenade, I marveled at the beautiful beach and the vibrant array of colorful parasols dotting the shoreline. The soothing sound of waves lapping against the sandy beach created a serene backdrop to this idyllic Spanish escape.
As I wandered deeper into Sitges, the quaint streets revealed their historic charm. Whitewashed buildings with intricate iron balconies and colorful flowers hanging from windows added to the town's allure. The scent of fresh seafood wafted from inviting tapas bars, tempting my taste buds. Sitges, known for its artistic and cultural heritage, exuded a relaxed yet vibrant ambiance that felt like a step back in time to a simpler, more leisurely era.
Sitting at a café with a view of the bustling Plaça de l'Ajuntament, I sipped on a refreshing glass of sangria. The square was abuzz with locals and visitors alike, chatting, laughing, and enjoying the ambiance. Sitges, with its combination of natural beauty, historical charm, and a lively atmosphere, left an indelible mark, making it a hidden gem on the Catalan coast.
beautiful Cala close to Sitges
#beachvacation Cala Playa Morisca is a naked friendly beach, everybody is very respectful. There is a car park (of charge) 5 min walking from it. there are about 40 spaces for cars. the price is about 7.00 euros for the first 3 hours and then 1 pence per minute after that.
there is also a wee bar and a restaurant not far from it. there are also toilets.
the water was warm. there are not much space to set your towels and the tight can be high. I would recommend to arrive before 11. the car park closes at 18:00 so bear that in mind.
it is a lovely place to be quiet and peaceful
Unique wine produced locally in Sitges 🍷
In the little town of Sitges, near Barcelona, you can visit Centre d’Interpretació de la Malvasía de Sitges.
This is a winery / museum / wine bar and shop that preserves an almost lost type of grape for wine that is unique in the Mediterranean coast of Spain - malvasia.
Malvasia is a type of grape, strong in flavor and with a deep orange brown color. It dates back to the Roman times, when already this location was a popular spot for the growth of grapes.
Through centuries, the malvasia has been produced in Sitges and the areas nearby this town. However, by the 20th century the production of this type of wine was in steep decline.
The Malvasia Center in Sitges is the only place that still grows, harvests and produces the type of grape used to make malvasia.
A visit to its museum is a unique experience to understand the rich heritage of this land and the dedication of the team behind its preservation.
And do not leave without trying their wines, they have a varied selection that includes sweet wine, dry wine and also various white wines. So for sure it can please all palates.

Sitges Great for Food, Hills and Relaxation
When visiting the Catalonia province of Spain I would recommend taking 2/3 days in Sitges, the area is full of food options and hiking routes that allow you to explore the Spanish Hills an underrated aspect of Spain.
Sitges is located under an hour’s drive from Barcelona and has easily accessible public transport options to Barcelona. When visiting Sitges I would recommend taking a trip to both the hills and beaches so you can get a view of what Sitges looks like from both perspective.
Sitges is often not talked about when discussing Spain however I would recommend going for the sandy beaches and affordable prices.

Legend of the turquoise sea of Barcelona, how long has it been since you last visited?
Xiches is located 40 kilometers south of Barcelona, with fine sand that is no less soft than that of Phuket Island, and a long coastline. Many people come here to drink tea and vacation every weekend.
From the small train station in Barcelona, take the r2s line towards ESTACION DE TREN VILANOVA I LA GELTRU. International students with a monthly subway card do not need to buy a ticket to go there, just use the subway card directly. If returning (to the original station), you need to buy a ticket at the hall for 4.6 euros. After departing from Barcelona, we get off at Sitges, and after exiting the station, we can reach the destination "Sitges" in just 300m. It is truly a place "facing the sea, with warm spring flowers blooming."
The streets in the town are mostly narrow, typical Spanish architecture, clean and tidy. Walking among them brings infinite comfort and healing. There are also some very special small houses, Mediterranean style, like Santorini, with white walls and blue doors, peaceful and beautiful.
The Pink Church is located right next to the coastline and is a landmark building in this area. Its location is excellent. When the sun sets, the sunlight will turn the exterior walls of the church into pink, making it a popular spot for couples to embrace and kiss. So bring your significant other and hurry over! Due to the Mediterranean climate, you can see people wearing clothes for different seasons on the streets here, so don't be surprised! With over 300 sunny days a year and an average temperature of only around 18 degrees Celsius, it feels like Dali in Europe. The church is usually not open to the public, but it will be open during weddings, which are hard to come by.
If you want to eat, the prices here by the seaside are moderate, averaging around 20 euros per person, which will definitely make you full. But because I'm poor, I didn't choose to eat here. Instead, I went to the supermarket and bought some bread, hahaha... By the way, I highly recommend a restaurant here (the location in picture one), which is a cliffside one by the seaside with excellent scenery.
Spanish beer Clara🍺 Lemon Fanta + beer!
Spanish food has a lot of garlic, so it suits the Korean palate very well❣️ I want to eat paella, padae again😋

A day at Sitges
Getting There - Less than 40 min. by train. Round trip that cost less than 10 euro.
Attractions - The sidewalk by the Mediterranean Sea was a breathtaking while discovering the small town and its narrow streets. The Saint Bartomeu Church overlooking the town with a memorable sunset scenery. Many beaches, the one close to the downtown is large enough and in the morning a group of people would play volleyball for everyone to watch.
Food & Restaurants - You have your pick in this small town. Many coffees and restaurants.
Shopping - Loads of local stores and prices are decent compared to Barcelona.
Overall, a nice and quient town not far from the bustling city of Barcelona.
Must short trip from BCN
#beachtown Sitges was surprisingly fab to stop for a day at from Barcelona. Beautiful small town, full with shops and restaurants, bars and cafes. Really cute
