INNER CITY GEM
Fort Canning Park in Singapore is like stepping into a lush, green oasis right in the heart of the city. It's super easy to get to—just a short walk from Dhoby Ghaut or Fort Canning MRT, and you’re ready to explore this historical gem.
As soon as I entered the park, I was surrounded by towering trees and winding paths that beckoned me to explore further. There’s so much history here—Fort Canning was once a military base, and you can still see old cannons and underground bunkers as you wander around. My favorite spot? The stunning spiral staircase that leads down to a hidden tunnel—it’s an Instagram dream!
Beyond the history, Fort Canning Park is perfect for a peaceful stroll or a picnic on the grassy lawns. I found myself relaxing under the shade, listening to the birds and forgetting that I was right in the middle of a bustling city.
Fort Canning Park is a must-visit for nature lovers and history buffs alike. It’s a place where you can escape the city’s hustle while diving into Singapore’s rich past. Trust me, you’ll love the serene vibes and hidden treasures scattered throughout the park!

[Explore SG] Staycation: Fullerton Hotel
Staying in Fullerton Hotel for my birthday celebration was a luxury experience. Other than the gorgeous view from the balcony, I was surprised with a birthday cake and a personal note, which was a lovely touch. I was eager to soak myself in the spacious bathtub, but first, food!
Took a stroll over to Marina Bay Sands and dined at Bread Street Kitchen - one of my favourite restaurants because of their bread basket (no longer complimentary, alas).
As we returned to explore the hotel a little more, we stumbled upon a stairway leading us to a hidden balcony, where we had the direct view of the magnificent Marina Bay Sands with a Super Moon peeking out to say hi! What a night. 😍
We took a trip down memory lane in a small gallery within the hotel, filled with nostalgic black and white photographs and videos describing its glorious history - including the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s infamous speech held right in front of the hotel.
It was such a pleasure (and honour) to stay in this historical building where great things happen.

Japan is another 🌏🤩🗻
#timetotravel
#trip #mysgmemories ##Latinalovingjapan
Japan is is definitely a gem !
I though after living few years in Shenzhen, China, and visited some other Asian countries , I have seen enough, how wrong I was! Japan prove me wrong .
Their Culture is unique , people’s education blow my mind away . I have seen beautiful landscapes, combine modern with traditional and it felt like a dream.
Definitely recommended to anyone who likes traveling and get sweet memories, Japan but be on your list .
I visited : Tokyo , Osaka , Kyoto and stunning Mount Fuji .
Best memory in Tokyo to touch Hachiko monument ( has a great value personally) located in the city center , say to find out follow the directions written everywhere around. Mount Fuji is more that you can expect, sub-real , impotent . To get there I have used the 7 day pass half way last tram is run by a special line to the pagoda but wasn’t a big deal payment .
Osaka best place for video games and snacks every step you take you would like to grab a new snack and believe me , all are great !
Kyoto is traditional Japan , temples , history , narrow streets, geishas , a treasure.
Every city I visited was unique , different from the other , that make me feel I visited different country’s in one place.
Go and explore by yourself to feel the magic of Japan and it’s people . You will not regret it 🤩
Hidden Maze At Neighbourhood
#mysgmemories #tripblazers
Do you know there is a maze garden in the tampines neighbourhood? Children love running around the circular pavement while their parents sit on the benches to watch their books or listen to songs. There are also few outdoor gym equipment available for use. It is definitely a great place to jog around the area to keep healthy. I like the idea of the private cubicles where you can have your own performance area to rehearse for your event. It reminds me of the park I have near my house where we always have our private chat with our group of friends together.
Good Food @ Soi Social
Soi Social was recently added to a dining programme that I’m a part of and I couldn’t wait to try it! It’s opened by Chef Ian Kitticha and from online review, I knew the food was going to be good!
We went on a Sunday and ordered these dishes.
Ribs
Tom Yum Goong
Phad Thai Goong
Tiger Roar Fried Rice
We also ordered still water at $3++ per person! Their most affordable drinks order.
The ribs were very soft and tender, tasted very well too! It paired quite well with the Tiger Roar Fried rice which was fried in beef fat and serve with Wagyu bits. It was a solid 8/10! My favourite has got to be the Tom Yum, it packed a punch and hit the spot, with 6 decent sized prawns it was a MUST ORDER for me!
The Phad Thai was pretty underwhelming thanks to the prawn which didn’t taste too good for a dish and place of this standard.
I was impressed by the food and would defiantly definitely come back again.#mysgmemories #food

The Greatest Airport
It is a bit strange to admit that my favorite place in Singapore is the airport, but everything in Jewel-Changi Airport just dazzles me - it is no wonder that it tops the list of world’s best airports year after year. There is a mall with many popular stores, restaurants, food courts, supermarkets, movie theater, and so many other attractions, and the vortex is worth marveling. I love spending a whole day here just chilling and window shopping.

People's Park Dining

At the people's park, you can find many food stalls selling authentic cuisine. From buns to noodles to dried goods. They are freshly made and are customized to the local taste. The 100 meters long stretch of food stalls is definitely the place you must try if you like to eat authentic Chinese food. At the people's park, you can also find many elderly dancing with the music beats. It is a relaxing place for them and a gourmet paradise for others. The location is just outside the Chinatown mrt station.
Jalan Besar Accomodation
#mysgmemories #tripblazers
If you are looking for a decent priced boutique hotel along the jalan besar area, you can consider the holiday Inn express serangoon, classique, or the hotel nuve stellar. In terms of location, I feel that the hotel nuve is the best as it is just a five minute walk towards the city Square mall. The hotel is only a few years old and the rooms are modern and trendy. The famous scissor rice stall is also opposite the hotel. It closes late at midnight, so you can have your supper there too.
Little Saigon In Singapore
#mysgmemories
Banh Mi Saigon
Address - 505 Ang Mo Kio Ave 8, #01-2668, Singapore 560505
Ambiance/Facilities - small neighborhood shop
Highlights - best banh mi in Singapore
Avg. Price per Person - $10
Rating - 5/5
Banh Mi Saigon is an unpretentious small shop under a HDB block in Ang Mo Kio selling the best Banh Mi in Singapore. They make their own baguette breads and they are stuffed abundantly with ingredients. The bread is crispy on the outside and it's saucy on the inside with lots of meat and vegetables, just the way I love it! Although, it's just bread but it's a great Vietnamese snack that's filling and keeps you going for the day. Don't forget to order a cup of their iced Vietnamese coffee which is bitter sweet and keeps you awake.
Banh Mi Saigon really reminds me of little Vietnam in Singapore, with little lanterns hanging in front of the shop and they do sell some Vietnamese products as well. There are little stools and tables, the same way like how you will eat at a Vietnamese street food stall. There are other food stuff that you can try at this place as well such as their Vietnamese rice rolls, sticky rice and spring rolls. Everything is sold fresh and made fresh, definitely a 10/10 for me. Go try it!
Marina Barrage Spiral Hill
#mysgmemories #tripblazers
Do you know that at the marina barrage entrance, there is a huge spiral paveway which brings you all the way to the top ? You will have a bird's eye view of the entire marina barrage area. The paveway is only by walking and no cycling is allowed. If you like to cycle, then you should visit the marina barrage where you can cycle to the other part of the marina bay area. The route is wild and you get to see all the beautiful plants and flowers along the way. It is definitely a great cycling route to go for.
MRT Artistic Design
#mysgmemories #tripblazers
At some of the mrt stations in Singapore, you would find various themes to it. For instance, for the redhill mrt station, you will see the building is painted in red. For the gardens by the bay station, you will see beautiful flowers and plants along the exit. For the promenade station, you will see a few huge crystal balls hanging at the top. For other train stations, you can even see artistic wall paintings. Be sure to visit as many train stations as you can to explore the various themes of the stations.
Affordable Ice Cream In the Heartlands 🍦

Am:Pm Cafe
Address - 529 Ang Mo Kio Ave 10, #01-2365, Singapore 560529
Ambiance/Facilities - Cafe in the heartlands
Highlights - Affordable ice cream with egglet waffles
Avg. Price per Person - $10/pax
Rating - 5/5
I love Am:PM Cafe because you can get a quick dessert fix at this cafe without burning a hole in your pocket. I was surprised that I could get a double twist ice cream on an egglet waffles for only $10 and it comes with 3 toppings and a sauce. Most cafes would easily charge desserts like this for $15 and above. Super Affordable I would say for $10. I love that that ice cream was milky and creamy and they used egglet waffles instead of the normal rectangular waffles that you see in cafes. The egglet waffles was fragrant and crispy, just yummy. You can even select the flavours for your ice cream and I highly recommend their salted caramel and chocolate flavour. Rich and chocolatey! The cafe has a comfy and cozy vibe and it's clean for a heartland cafe in Ang Mk Kio. You could also chill at this cafe with their specialty coffees such as latte or cuppacino or affagato. Highly recommend Am:PM Cafe.
Die Die Must Buy Muffins In Singapore 🧁
#mysgmemories
If you see a shop with a long queue, you know it's either selling something really cheap or something really good. At Chocolat N Spice Bakery, you will always see a snake queue and you can get the best of both worlds there - cheap and really good muffins! Their muffins are heavenly and worth all the praises. They are moist, buttery and filled with generous amount of ingredients. Each muffin is priced between $1.70-$2.20, which makes it affordable. My favourite muffin flavour from then would be chocolate chip and double chocolate, although many other flavours such as orange peel raisin, cheese, blueberry, etc are also available. Cakes, brownies, cookies are also sold and I heard their cheesecake is equally fantastic. I suggest you head down to chocolat n spice early if you would like to avoid the long queue.

Ambiance/Facilities - small cozy ice cream bar
Highlights - perfect supper spot that closes at 2am
Avg. Price per Person - $15/ pax
Rating - 3.5/5
Looking for something sweet for supper? Then do head down to this interesting ice cream bar that opens till late at 2am. Cold Flings ice cream place is situated under a condominium called High Park Residences and they serve one of the most unique ice cream flavours. How unique? Well, they have ice cream such as blue pea lychee, dark chocolate with collagen peptides and prebiotics, ube ube, and chrysanthemum cocoa nibs. Flavours that you won't normally see in an ice cream shop. I love that their waffles and cones are made on the spot and they are fragrant. I had their double scoop ice cream on a waffle cone, which sets me back at $11. The only down point of this cafe is that waiting time is long and it is quite pricey. Otherwise, it's a nice and cozy place for yummy ice cream as supper. Acai bowls, which is a superfood is also available for order. Now, you know where to go for great ice cream and one that closes late.

You're already home and you're hungry but you don't want to travel far out, where do you go? Well if you are staying in the seng kang region, then do not hesitate to visit chef in a box. This is a pretty interesting concept where vending machines with hot food, snacks and drinks are available everyday 24/7, without fail. Guess what too? The Marina Barrage
#mysgmemories #tripblazers
Take a ten minutes walk from the gardens by the bay line at the Thomson east coast line , to reach the marina barrage area. The marina barrage area is an educational trip where it explains how our locally made new water, was derived. It brings back my college days whereby our school brought us here to understand how our new water was derived and that we must save water as every drop is precious. The water was recycled from the reservoir and cleaned thoroughly to be safe for consumption. Admission is free to the public.
The Heritage Gallery

The fort canning heritage gallery is open from 10am to 6pm. The heritage gallery showcases the development of the fort canning park from last time till today. There are also displays of artefacts left by the ancestors that have a significant meaning. You will also get to find out the 700 year history of the fort canning hill. Be sure to visit the heritage gallery at the middle of the fort canning park. The address is at 5 Cox Terrace, Singapore 179620.

The highly raved about Jamba juice is finally in Singapore! Jamba juice is a healthy fruit smoothies and snacks brand that is originally from California. You can now find Jamba juice and it's first outlet in Singapore at Changi airport terminal 1 on the 2nd floor. You can find all sorts of fruit smoothies and the one I would highly recommend is their Mango A go go drink. It was refreshing and sweet and healthy. Drink size comes in small, medium and large. My medium drink cost about $8, which was pretty pricey. Other snacks like sandwiches, bagels and mixed nuts can be found there too. All fruit juices and smoothies are made fresh and they are such good thirst quenchers. You will love Jamba juice too!
The big aquarium and kingfisher lake
#mysgmemories #tripblazers
The big aquarium and the kingfisher lake are both located within the gardens by the bay. I followed the map and it leads me to the big aquarium where I get to see giant catfishes and other big species of fishes in the aquarium. I later walked further to check out the king fisher lake. Perhaps it is in the sunny afternoon, hence I didnt manage to spot any king fisher at the lake. It can be a long walk , probably more than half an hour walking, from the bayfront train station to the big aquarium area. Be sure to hydrate yourself before coming.
Shangri-La Singapore Jr Suite
#mysgmemories
Late 2022, Trip had an amazing deal on the Junior Suites of Shangri-La Singapore. It was only SGD212 a night! It even included breakfast and executive lounge access! My friends and I jumped on the deal and booked all our stays on the same weekend in 2023.
The room was SPACIOUS! It was 67sqm, more than DOUBLE the average room size of 30sqm in Singapore. There was a sofa bed for the little one, a study desk with sweeping views of the gardens and a nice bedroom with doors that can partition between the living area and the bedroom.
The toilet was also HUGE and spacious, with a big bathtub which is able to fit 2 people! The lounge offered great food, even better with great company.
The lobby was also very grand, marking the end of an amazing stay at Shangri-la.

Trendy Apparel Street
#mysgmemories #tripblazers
The bugis Street is one that is always crowded with people especially during the weekends. I love to visit here to check out appreals on sales. You can even bargain with them if you are buying more pieces. It brings back my memories when I was still a student, the place was still not air-conditioned. It was very hot and we had to go to the second level to enjoy the cool air. But now, we can have a cooling shopping experience at both levels. You can get trendy clothing and accessories here too. There is a fitting room at almost every shop, so you can try on the clothing without any issue. Be sure to grab some super good deals from the bugis Street, which is just a few minutes walk from the bugis mrt station.

Ambiance / highlights - pastries and mooncake
Rating - 5/5
One of my favourite pastries that I always ask my hubby to buy for me. The founder of the bread has won several awards. My favorite bread is the chicken curry bread, and the ah pollo bread that is filled with custard cream and Bo luo skin. As the mid autumn season is coming soon, we have purchased some yam mooncake with single yolk to try. The texture of the yam paste was great. It wasn't too sweet to our liking. It is a great gift for your colleagues and families for this mid autumn festive season.

A year has passed by and we are now approaching our mid autumn festive season in a few weeks time. It is time to shop for mooncakes for my friends colleagues and families. Most of the sellers do offer discounts for selected credit cards and we are lucky to be the card holders of those cards. My hubby purchased the mooncake from the Fullerton hotel, while I bought the Shangri la double yolk baked mooncake. I bought one more pack from the tai Cheong kok for my older sisters as they prefer mooncakes made from traditional bakery shops. It will be a joyful moment and we look forward to the mid autumn festive season.
Lantern - Stylish Bar

Cheers and enjoy the evenings!

Orchard Malls Architecture
#mysgmemories #tripblazers
When your friends from overseas ask you, where is the best place you would recommend him or her to visit ? Our first 3 answers would definitely include Orchard. Orchard has been a shopping paradise since my younger days. The orchard Street is always full of joy and laughter, with street performances, and people taking pictures on the street with the beautiful mall building exterior. They include the Ngee Ann city, ion, paragon, Wheelock, Shaw, orchard central, orchard gateway, wisma atria, 313 somerset mall. Each of them have their own unique features. They may be different, but they will still be loved by shoppers like us. The transition of the shopping malls along the orchard area has improved substantially over the years. I hope to see more malls in the orchard area in time to come.
