We rode the Maokong Gondola on our last night in Taipei. After visiting the zoo next door, we went to the gondola station and tapped in with our easy card, which automatically gives a 20NT discount. There was an additional discount for rides up after 4pm, so our first journey up only cost 30NT. We rode the crystal cabin (aka “Eyes of Maokong”) which has a transparent bottom. We took the Maokong Gondola to head up to the top of the hill. Along the way, we enjoyed the beautiful lush greenery. Maokong is well known for its tea plantations, just like Cameron Highland in Malaysia. Many people like to have a cup of tea at the cafe or tea house here. It's peace and tranquillity. We had a delicious meal at the food court there. The Oyster omelette and herbal pork ribs soup were so tasty. Great for the cold weather. At night, the scenery was stunning.
