If you ask me to relate a city from UK to Amsterdam 🇳🇱, I would say definitely Cambridge 🇬🇧. Locals ride the bicycles to arrive in schools, works, or shops 🚴‍♂️🚲. Also, the city has a canal in which some people could row 🛶🚣‍♂️. The other thing that I want to mention is the streets. Alam Damai Recreation Park is located at Alam Damai Kuala Lumpur, it’s a neighbour park with trees and a small lake. Excellent place for jogging and walking, there’s a kids playground in the middle of the park. You can also bring some food and drinks to picnic in the park, there’s no entrance fee needed. Toilet is available at the entrance with no cost, very clean. Parking is free too. There’s plenty of fresh air to enjoy at Plover Cove Reservoir, near Tai Mei Tuk, Shuen Wan in the New Territories of Hong Kong. All you need is a free afternoon or evening, take the 20C minibus or 75K bus from Tai Po MTR Station to the terminus, and then follow the walking/bicycle path toward the Bradbury Jockey Club Youth Hostel. Follow the road up the small hill past the BJCYH, and you’re there - breathe! 😁 The dam wall is approximately 2kms long, the dam itself having a capacity of 230 million cubic metres! In other words, it’s a huge and picturesque lake of freshwater on the upper-side of the wall. On the lower side of the dam, is the sea of Plover Cove. 🌊 It is often enjoyed by wind-surfers 🏄 and boats of all descriptions. 🛶🚤🛥️🚣⛵️ Evening, and sunset, are really picturesque. 🌅 If you don’t wish to walk too much, it’s possible to hire bicycles 🚲🚲 (and even quadracycles) in Tai Mei Tuk, or unlock a loco/scan-QR-type bike from near the bus terminus. Flying kites is also popular (and successful!) from off the reservoir wall, as there is often a pleasant wind blowing. 🪁 Lung Mei Beach 🏖️, BBQ venues/parks🍖, bicycle hire/paths🚲, plus the Pak Sin Leng Nature Trail ⛰️ are other very worthy attractions nearby. The four-wheel bikes cost more and the children’s bikes cost less! There’s also hourly bicycle hire; you can make your outing as cheap/expensive/relaxing/rigourous as you like! ☺️😎 Tai Mei Tuk/Lung Mei villages also have a great selection of Chinese, Indian and western restaurants. There’s also small cafés, a bakery and a foreign foods grocery. Plus, there’s drink machines and small stores for snacks along the bicycle path. If you don’t want to ride far, or at all, you can simply extend your outing from Tai Mei Tuk to see the Plover Cove Reservoir or swim at the Lung Mei Beach. 🏖 These places are within walking distance. Take 20C mini bus or 75K double-decker bus from Tai Po MTR Station. Tai Mei Tuk is the terminus, you can’t get lost! 😂 When you arrive, you will look up to see the Pat Sing Leng mountain (“Ridge of the Eight Immortals”). Yes, you can count them, 8 peaks! The mountain towers above the village! ⛰ The YHA Bradbury Jockey Club Tai Mei Tuk Youth Hostel (TaiPo) is basic but puts you right on the spot. using go city explorer, booked a 3h cycling tour across golden gate to Sausalito. had the unlimited biking package, so had the whole day to have our bicycle. it was fun, and what can I say? Visit the healthy bicycle park in Bangkok for a good workout. Longest bicycle ride I have ever had, more than 1 hour long. It is a big loop of cycling around the Bangkok airport. You can rent bicycles there. The track is well maintained. There is a mix of beginner and advanced cyclists. Lots of good options too to eat after a long cycle. I had a perfect chill sightseeing with bicycle day in Kyoto! 🚲 They have variety of bikes that you can choose from. I picked the standard class 3 gear for 1,100 JPY a day. From 09:00 - 18:00. Kyoto scenery is perfect for biking. The streets are smooth and safe! Some main busy streets may not allowed to ride a bike but there are many parking near famous attractions. If you want a nice fun day consider rent a bike and ride around town.
