Montserrat Monastery with panoramic views of the Holy Mountain!⛰️
Montserrat is a spectacularly beautiful Benedictine monk mountain retreat about one-hour northwest of Barcelona by train.
Montserrat Monastery is of significant religious importance and the natural beauty surrounding the monastery is breathtaking.
Montserrat derives from Latin and Catalan, meaning "Serrated Mountain." This name describes the mountain's jagged, saw-toothed appearance, which is characterised by its unique needle-shaped peaks and rocky formations. These formations have been shaped over millions of years by natural erosion processes, creating a dramatic and distinctive landscape.
The Montserrat Monastery offers panoramic views of the Holy Mountain with its distinctive huge pink and white stone mountains.
If you enjoy walking, there are also some interesting walks through the mountains where you will experience magnificent views of some of the most unusual rock formations in Catalonia. You can take a funicular to the top of the mountain, and from there you can choose several different walks, all with amazing views of the Catalonian countryside.

Sitges Great for Food, Hills and Relaxation
When visiting the Catalonia province of Spain I would recommend taking 2/3 days in Sitges, the area is full of food options and hiking routes that allow you to explore the Spanish Hills an underrated aspect of Spain.
Sitges is located under an hour’s drive from Barcelona and has easily accessible public transport options to Barcelona. When visiting Sitges I would recommend taking a trip to both the hills and beaches so you can get a view of what Sitges looks like from both perspective.
Sitges is often not talked about when discussing Spain however I would recommend going for the sandy beaches and affordable prices.

Tarrega day trip
Lovely day trip from Barcelona to the catalan mountains. Tarrega is a small town about 60km from the Andorra border and is a great place to explore for a few hours. The centre is roman of origin and it still looks incredibly old and somewhat medieval. The streets are quiet and a great place to relax for a coffee before re starting your adventure. Definitely recommend if you need a few hours off the road

#tarragona is one of the seacoast cities in #catalonia #spain . It is nit big, but also not small town. There is good connections by train from Barcelona so it is easy to get there. The city is very green with nice gardens and a small amphitheatre near the sea. It is very lively during the summer especially at night time. I slept here 2 nights and it was enough time to explore it.
