Miners Castle is one of the lakeshore’s most iconic rock formations
Miners Castle, Upper Peninsula, MI, USA
One of the most famous landmarks along the Pictured Rocks National Lake shoreline, and it's the only cliff area in the park accessible by vehicle and just a short hike with two viewing platforms. The upper overlook offers a view of Grand Island, Lake Superior, and Miner’s Castle Point. The lower overlook takes you right on top of the point itself, once again offering breathtaking views of Grand Island and Lake Superior. Seeing the views from the top of the rocks really puts into perspective how tall and big the rocks really are. It's not something you can explain you just have to experience it with your own eyes. Don't miss out on this natural wonder.

Exploring the Black Rocks and crystal clear water of Lake Superior
Black Rocks, Presque Isle Park, Marquette, MI, USA
Nestled along a 323 acre forested peninsula which extends into the water of Lake Superior, the Black Rocks offer absolutely beautiful views of the water. The Black Rocks are estimated to be 1.7 billion years old and are formed along the shores of Lake Superior on the Isle. They are primarily composed of a type of igneous rock called basalt. Basalt forms from the rapid cooling of lava flows, which occurred during volcanic activity millions of years ago in the region. The contrast of the dark basalt against the blue waters of Lake Superior creates a picturesque landscape. Enjoy hiking along the rocks and watching people jump off the edges of some of the bigger cliffs into the cold water. It's definitely a popular spot for the locals to cool down. There's also a cove spot kind of like a little beach area where you can walk down to get in the water as well. It was so serene and such a lovely area. A must see while in Marquette, you won't be disappointed.

A Morning at the Forbidden City: Discover the Heart of Beijing’s Imperial History
My recent morning exploring the Forbidden City was nothing short of a journey through time. It’s Beijing’s iconic complex and once the exclusive home of emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties. It’s like stepping into a word where each building, gate, and courtyard whispers tales of Chinese imperial life and history. #tourism #explore

Arriving early also allows for more unobstructed photos and a peaceful start to the say. #historicallandmarks
The main attractions are spread along the central axis of the complex. From the iconic Meridian Gate to the Hall of Supreme Harmony (Taihe Dian), each structure is beautifully intricate, and the details are stunning. I especially enjoyed the Inner Court, where the imperial family lived. Here, the Palace of Heavenly Purity (Qianging Gong) offers insights into the personal lives of the emperors and empresses.

- Symbolic Color and Design: You will notice many roofs are painted yellow - symbolising the emperor’s power. Also, the number of animal figurines on each rooftop hints at the importance of the building.
- No Trees Along the Main Path: Ever wonder why central axis is free of trees? It’s believed to prevent any obstruction to the emperor’s grand pathway!

- Wear Comfortable Shoes: This place is massive, so expect to walk a lot. I walked around 5 kilometres that morning!
- Bring Water and Snacks: While there are cafes inside, having water and light snacks can be helpful for longer visits.
- Stay Sun-Protected: Mornings can still get sunny, especially in Beijing’s warmer months. Sunscreen and a hat made a big difference for me.
My experience was not just about sightseeing but feeling the immerse scale and historical depth of this place. If you are a history enthusiast or love immersive experience, the Forbidden City is an absolute must-visit! #history #culture

Jude Law and Cameron Diaz were here!
Lovely little village in Surrey which was one of the filming locations for The Holiday starring Jude Law and Cameron Diaz. Beautiful English countryside and some amazing wonders of nature; including the Silent Pool with its distinctive crystal-clear water on a chalk bed and aisqua green color due to rainwater that seeps through.
A little fact for you - the Silent Pool is linked to an alleged folklore tale that says King John on his horse abducted a woodcutter's daughter who was forced into the deep water and drowned. According to the legend, the maiden can be seen at midnight.

The eminonu pier cannot be missed. It is bustling with so much activity from people taking transport to ferries, fishermen, locals and food. If you wish to travel between the European and Asian sides of Istanbul, there is the Avrasya Tünel or bridges. And another popular choice are the ferries either from Eminönü or Karaköy to Kadıköy.
If you wish to just stay onboard and soak in the sights of the bosphorous. These ferries are a great way to do so by riding and back. I recommend getting the istanbul card for convenience. Another Side Of Weekends in London, financial district ghost town
London is one of the best cities in the world and is a massive tourist hotspot, but unfortunately that means huge crowds and queues! One of my favourite places to wander I the City of London, which on the weekend is completely empty - with all of the offices closed you get to explore this area without seeing other people.
I love this area for its architecture, contrasts and viewpoints - you can see historical churches right next to towering glass skyscrapers.
You can head to Liverpool Street station, bank station, Chancery Lane or Aldgate and start walking.
Landmarks - you can see St Paul’s, Walkie Talkie Building, Bank of England and many more. And all this without lots of people in your photos!
For food and drink most places are closed but you can find enough options for coffee, cakes and burgers - all of which are very quiet due to it being the weekend!
If the weather is good you can walk all the way to Covent Garden in under an hour, or south bank if you cross one of the bridges.

Effortlessly Romantic
You know that feeling, when something constantly lingers around you. It's in your head but you cannot pin point. Well, it can be many things and it could also mean that you are going nuts. However, if that happens to you in Paris. The thing most likely is a sense of romance and Paris is what you are to blame. The place is worth all the hype.
You're likely to have more unpleasant experiences than the pleasant ones. Yet, Paris was and will remain romantic. Okay and you could certainly pinpoint to parisians for certain experiences. Upon, half a dozen visits and in retrospect. Have i always had good experiences? Nope and you too ought to prepare for pickpockets, scams and just lot of unnecessary bother around major tourist spots. Occasionally, rude behaviour too.
But hey, that is nothing new. The Eiffel, the Louvre and whatever works for you will overshadow those experiences in a moment and leave you with a life long something to remember. The food, the sights, the air, the yourself being in Paris....it's an extraordinary feeling. You have to be here to understand what I'm saying. For this is a place you cannot not visit during this lifetime. That's my time. #paris #monument #cafe #europe #summer #vacation #restaurant #women #explore #singapore
Magical familiy day spent at Rottemeren 🇳🇱

Northern Lights
#myhiddengems
The region of svalbard had been a subject of my fascination for quite some time. Seeing Aurora Borealis in person, was naturally the biggest of reasons. But that's not all.
In my personal case, there was a challenge in terms of getting leaves at the right time. And the right time being affordable on my pocket. You see I don't mind winters or snow. But not constantly. Coming from an island country that stays warm through out the year. Naturally too I found colder places to be challenging. The case with Svalbard also was that Northern lights are best seen around the winter months of say October to February. And this period falls in the stretch that is famously referred to as 24 hours of darkness. Yes this is the nonstop winter nights phase that this region witnesses. It always had me anxious.
This also made the place somewhat adventurous. Eventually I managed a couple of days with affordable transport arrangements. I arrived in Longyearbyen, which is the destination of all flights in, is a unique little town. I have to say the arriving experience was somewhat underwhelming given with the wait my mind had build up this place so much. Besides, things being costly. The adjusting to the weather in terms of travel takes a while too.
Once settled at the Hotel, I ventured out to explore. Now this town felt quite cosmopolitan, with art galleries, long wine lists at restaurants, and an outstanding grocery store and mini-mall. The people working in the tourist sector generally spoke english well. There is an interesting museum where a gentleman waived off my entrance fees, a spooky little graveyard, some abandoned mines, and a couple of glaciers visible in the distance.
To tell you an interesting fact. The tourism board cautions tourists not to leave the town limits without a firearm. Nothing to worry about but just as a caution against polar bears. All of the activities offered in Longyearbyen involve experiencing the arctic environment surrounding it. Summer activities include hiking, glacier walks, rafting etc. And for a short getaway like mine just to get a glimpse of this region. It worked out decently well.

A day in Putrajaya.
We still had a couple of days left before our flight to Cambodia, and after having spent 2 months in KL, we decided to stay Putrajaya for a bit and check it out. It turns out that a day of exploration was sufficient. Here's what we did:
1. We climbed the Putrajaya steps and spent some time playing in the park at the top, there is also a botanical gardens nearby.
2. A late lunch at Tong Yuen Chinese Restaurant, the food was very delicious, with large portion sizes that are perfect to share.
3. As the sun began to drop low in the sky, we took a slow stroll around the area and towards the Putrajaya Mosque, which we had a gorgeous view of, from across the water.
4. Make your way over to the square outside the Putrajaya mosque, it really comes alive in the later afternoon and evening, with vendors selling snacks and light-up toys, kids are playing all around and people sit and chat as they watch the sun set.
5. The bridge offers a beautiful view of the sun setting, with the silhouette of the mosque and the beautiful sounds of prayer echoing gently through the air, it's rather awe-inspiring.🤩
6. After the sun had set, we made our way back to the park we visited earlier as there was an area called the "Secret garden". Which lights up beautifully at night. There are some food stalls there too.

true chocolate lover’s dream
A true chocolate lover’s dream - a dessert spot in London that does incredible cakes, brownies, cookie dough, waffles and more 🍫
These were honestly some of the best desserts I’ve had in London. So rich and decadent! Will be my go to dessert spot for sure 😍
The highlights for me:
🤍 Brownie sizzler: Warm and gooey brownie topped with chocolate fudge sauce, served with vanilla ice cream
🤍 Chocolate coma: Warm chocolate sponge filled with hot chocolate smothered in white chocolate served with a chocolate syringe and soft vanilla ice cream
🤍 Nutella french toast: French toast served with melted nutella, fresh strawberries, crushed nuts and madagascan vanilla gelato
🤍 Piece of cake milkshake: Milk chocolate and chocolate fudge cake
Save, be sure to try these indulgent sweet treats and follow for more!

A Must-Visit Hidden Gem in Hong Kong😃
📍High Island Reservoir East Dam🏞
📌 Situated at the southeastern end of Sai Kung and built in the 1970s, High Island Reservoir is the largest reservoir in Hong Kong. It is surrounded by some of the city’s most scenic country parks and pristine beaches.
📌The eerily beautiful hexagonal volcanic columns visible along the coast of the East Dam of High Island Reservoir are not seen anywhere else in Hong Kong. The hexagonal columns were formed 140 million years ago due to a catastrophic volcanic eruption, in which the tuff eventually cooled and solidified to form the rock columns. Today, these remnants are one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world. In fact, it is designated as one of the 12 main sites in Hong Kong’s UNESCO Global Geopark. It is the only site in the area reachable on foot; visitors have to take a guided ferry tour to explore other sites.
📌 Gigantic T/H-shaped dolosse blocks pile up along one side of the East Dam, creating a chaotic yet beautiful barrier to protect the dam against the rough sea.
📌 This is a popular photo-taking spot and a recommended must-go at High Island Reservoir East Dam!
