Timeless Beauty and Royal Ceremonies: Exploring Gyeongbokgung Palace!
#asiatrip
Visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul was like stepping into a royal storybook! The palace grounds were massive, with grand gates, beautiful pavilions, and colorful architecture. Everywhere I looked, there was something stunning to admire.
The best part was catching the royal guard ceremony. Watching the guards in traditional costumes, with their bright colors and impressive movements, was like traveling back in time. It felt so special to witness a piece of Korean history in action!
Walking around, I enjoyed the stunning views of the palace surrounded by mountains and the city. It was a perfect blend of history and beauty. Gyeongbokgung Palace is a must-visit for breathtaking scenery and a touch of royal magic!

War Memorial of Korea 🇰🇷
#cherryblossom2024
The War Memorial of Korea in Seoul, South Korea, was a profound and somber experience on my spring vacation. 🕊️ Located near the vibrant district of Yongsan-gu, the entrance fee was affordable, around 3,000 KRW per person. As I wandered through the expansive museum and outdoor exhibits, I was deeply moved by the tributes to the sacrifices of Korean soldiers and civilians throughout history. The museum's comprehensive displays chronicled the Korean War and other significant conflicts, offering valuable insights into the nation's tumultuous past. After paying my respects at the memorial, I took a contemplative walk through the nearby Namsan Park, enjoying the tranquil atmosphere and scenic views of Seoul. Nearby attractions also include the iconic N Seoul Tower and the bustling Namdaemun Market, where I sampled delicious street food and picked up unique souvenirs. The War Memorial of Korea was a poignant reminder of the importance of peace and remembrance. #WarMemorialOfKorea #Seoul #KoreanHistory 🇰🇷🕍
Celebrating friendship with coffee
This coffee shop is called Ethiopian Bet. Located in Gangwon-do Korea and is accessible by subway. It is near Legoland.
They offer your usual coffee drinks and specialty beans from Ethiopia for an added cost. There is also a food menu but I did not order anything from it.
This coffee shop commemorates the relationship between Korea and Ethiopia, with emphasis during the Korean War. There is a museum across from the coffee shop where you can see the history of the two countries. Across the street you can also rent bikes to explore the area. If you prefer something on the water you can rent a paddle boat and leisurely stroll in the water nearby.
It is a good day trip from Seoul. #coffeeshop #coffee #friendship #history #daytrip #Ethiopiancoffee #AfricanandKorea #coffeelover #coffeehunting #koreanhistory

After breakfast we went for the perfect winter stroll through Bukchon Hanok Village. The higher you get the more beautiful the view looking down on the city. You can rent traditional clothing to wear and take photos in, or like us admire those who have. People do actually live there, so most road signs ask you to please be respectful and walk the streets quietly which gives the village a very peaceful vibe. It was a quiet morning as we went on a Tuesday and not much seemed to be open. We found a cute little cafe where we had affogato and cookies, complimentary of the very kind owner. There is an amazing sock shop hidden down one of the alleys which you can completely get lost in! It was hard to stop at a few pairs! 🧦 #seoultravel #seoul #bukchon #bukchonhanokvillage #koreanhistory
