John Krasinski

John Krasinski (born Oct. 20, 1979) is an American actor and filmmaker. His breakout role was on the American version of “The Office,” a workplace comedy also starring Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson and Jenna Fischer. On the NBC series, Krasinski played Jim Halpert, a rare straight man in a paper distribution company full of colorful characters. During “The Office’s” nine-season run, Krasinski starred in feature films including “Dreamgirls,” “Smiley Face,” “The Holiday,” “License to Wed,” “It’s Complicated,” “Leatherheads” and “Something Borrowed.” But after the series ended in 2013, he became somewhat of an action star, with leading turns in “13 Hours” and the television series “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan,” as well as a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Reed Richards, who debuted in 2022’s “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”

In 2018, Krasinski directed and co-wrote “A Quiet Place” and starred in the horror film with his real-life wife, Emily Blunt. The movie received critical acclaim and became a box office smash, grossing over $350 million worldwide. The sequel, 2021’s “A Quiet Place Part II,” raked in nearly $300 million and helped launch the “Quiet Place” franchise, which will continue with a spinoff prequel film and a video game set in the same universe, a post-apocalyptic world in which extraterrestrial monsters with a sharp sense of hearing hunt humans bound to a life of silence. Over the COVID-19 pandemic, Krasinski started a web series from his home titled “Some Good News,” in which he spread positivity during the early stages of lockdown.
