Did you know? Richard Callwood purchased the Arundel Estate in Cane Garden Bay in the late 1800s and established the Arundel Distillery. Now, his legacy continues with the 4th generation of Callwoods running the distillery. Rum production has a long history in the British Virgin Islands, dating back to the 1600s. By the 18th and early 19th centuries, there were 106 distilleries in the BVI, including 26 on Tortola. Today, the Callwood Rum Distillery is the last remaining operational distillery. Using oak casks and copper pots, they craft rum on Tortola, BVI, which is then bottled and labeled for distribution. #History #Rum #BVILegacy #CallwoodDistillery
