Darden Executive MBA students concluded their Vietnam Global Residency in Ho Chi Minh City this week with a series of dynamic business engagements. We had the opportunity to visit a Vietnamese owned and operated garment factory, Thai Son S.P Sewing Factory in Vietnam , and learn about the business from Chris Walker. We also met with the deputy director of SAIGON PORT and learned about their port expansion master plan. Students engaged with the general director of Aplas Vietnam, a sustainable packaging company partnering with German technology. Darden EMBAs got to experience the Aplas factory floor, it’s high-level hygiene protocols, and visit their lab. On our final day in HCMC, we toured TMA Solutions, a major software solutions company building platforms for a variety of industry clients, from FinTech, global supply chain, to healthcare. Our time in HCMC concluded with an incredible presentation and discussion with Brook Taylor, the CEO of Asset Management, at VinaCapital, located in the heart of the city, where students learned about and discussed the Vietnamese investment environment and it’s extraordinary future potential. For most of students in the course, Vietnam was their third or fourth global residency, and it was remarkable to hear the connections and insights they drew between Vietnam and other emerging economies they’ve traveled to with Darden. #DardenGlobal #WhyDarden #TransformativeLearning
