#thailand  🇹🇭 | The #GREASE platform annual meeting in Bangkok gathered experts and high-level representatives from national One Health university networks across Southeast Asia: Vietnam One Health University Network (VOHUN) (Vietnam), LAOHUN Secretariat (Laos), #CAMBOHUN (Cambodia), Philippine One Health University Network, Inc., and Indonesia One Health University Network (Indonesia). 🔁 This year’s gathering marked a transition period for the GREASE network. Dr. Vannaphone Phouthana, National University of Laos (NUOL), and Vice Chair of LAOHUN, succeeded Prof. Dr. Wayan Tunas Artama, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), as the new president, building on the invaluable foundational work of his predecessor that has shaped the network’s vision and accomplishments. 🔁 The event also welcomed Dr. Severine Thys as the new GREASE coordinator, with heartfelt gratitude extended to Dr. Flavie Goutard for her exceptional dedication to strengthening and expanding the network’s impact across the region. 🌟 The participation of distinguished experts and research fellows from China further enriched the agenda. 🌱 Driving Innovation for Agroecology in Cambodia: AGRO CREALAB 🌟  We are thrilled to share the progress of AGRO CREALAB, a 12-month initiative funded by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aimed at leveraging digital innovation to disseminate agroecological practices and promote safe food systems in Cambodia. 🇰🇭  This interdisciplinary project engages young Cambodians from diverse academic backgrounds in an experiential learning journey to design scalable solutions using digital technologies. It champions agroecology—a transformative approach to agriculture that enhances productivity by harnessing ecosystem cycles, biodiversity, and natural synergies while reducing input dependence and environmental costs.   📅 Highlights from the Ideation Phase (July-November 2024):  🔹 Learning Through Immersion: Participants explored agroecology and food systems firsthand, interacting with farmers, traders, and stakeholders during field visits in Siem Reap and Battambang.  🔹 Creative Collaboration: Students from agriculture, digital sciences, and visual arts joined forces, supported by partners including RUA, CADT, VAAS, SS4L, and CIRAD.  🔹 Hackathon-Inspired Ideation: Over three weekends, participants developed innovative digital solutions, incorporating interactive tools like role-playing games and forum theatre.   🌟 Second Phase Begins!  On November 20, 2024, the second phase was officially launched at Fabrik Phnom Penh.  The event featured:  - Introduction by Raphaëlle Ducrot  - Opening remarks from Royal University of Agriculture, RUA, #CADT, and CIRAD in Continental Southeast Asia François Roger - Keynote by HE Dr. Chan Saruth from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (MAFF)  - Student teams' presentations of their projects followed by an award ceremony This second phase will guide selected teams in developing their ideas into functional prototypes, continuing to foster innovation and collaboration for Cambodia's agroecological transformation.  This initiative not only breaks academic silos but also fosters a network of passionate students, academics, and professionals united by a vision for sustainable agriculture. 🚀  #agroecology

🌟 Celebrating 40 Years of CIRAD: Next Stop – Laos! 🇱🇦 After successful events in Thailand 🇹🇭 and Cambodia 🇰🇭 , the 40th anniversary celebrations of CIRAD continue in Laos, starting this Monday, November 25th! 🎉 This milestone marks decades of impactful collaborations and shared achievements in agricultural research for sustainable development. 🌱 Next, the journey takes us to Vietnam in mid-December for the grand finale of this regional celebration. #Lao PDR 🇱🇦 | This week, a Soil Doctor program training took place in Attapeu, aimed at empowering local farmers. 👩🌾👨🌾 𝟭𝟴 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 from 𝟵 𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 in the province participated in the 5-day program, led by our partner, the Department of Agriculture and Land Management #DALAM. The first 3 days focused on training, followed by 2 days where the newly trained Soil Doctors demonstrated their skills by teaching fellow farmers in their communities. Upon completion, each participant received a soil fertility evaluation kit and a certificate of qualification. Dr. Florine D., a soil biodiversity specialist and researcher from the UMR Eco&Sols, CIRAD, currently on assignment in Laos, played a key role in organizing this event. 🌍 Advancing One Health in Vietnam! 🇻🇳 📣 We are thrilled to share the success of the 2nd ASEACA #Vietnam co-development Workshop, held on November 19, 2024, at the National Institute of Veterinary Research (NIVR) in #Hanoi. Facilitated by CIRAD, ILRI, and the One Health Partnership (OHP), this workshop brought together 20 key stakeholders from the health, veterinary, wildlife and plant sectors to strengthen #OneHealth efforts under the ASEACA project 🐾🌱🩺. The event fostered productive discussions and collaboration 🤝, paving the way for impactful actions to prevent zoonotic disease emergence and enhance #OneHealth initiatives in 🇻🇳.
