I’m still here. I have sadly booked two nights. The air conditioner barely works and we have laid towels down to cat h the dripping water. This room is indescribably bad. To be fair I’m scared the roof will collapse…. I’ve looked at other hotel options prepared to lose my 600 euros ($1000 aud) but with short notice I can not afford another $1000 plus. Shame on you Accor!! I’m Platinum and so upset that I’m spending $500 a night to stay in a hot, dripping hostel!

As with other reviews, this was a good location near Jean Médicin, the tram and the Nice-Ville train station but my room, particularly the bathroom, was very small and not really worth what I paid. The shower was great though. I suspect the rates are currently inflated due to the Rugby World Cup. The hotel does need updating and a bit of TLC. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was nice (pastries, bread, cereals, cheese, hams and scrambled egg, bacon and sausages) and the room where it was served was clean. If you’re a light sleeper, bring ear plugs as both nights I stayed I could hear the TV playing in another room until quite late. There is a lift although it is quite old-fashioned and small too.

This hotel is an embarrassment to the Ibis brand. Some really inexcusable things going on, such as: extremely, almost non-working wifi throughout the hotel and lobby; bad customer service (it doesn't hurt to smile or acknowledge guests as they come in or out the hotel), very poor breakfast with non existent vegan choices other than nut milk. Poor green credentials: towels were consistently changed daily even though they were left --as instructed-- on their hooks to keep using them; aircon was left on after our room was turned over; coffee is served in disposable cups; and every day there is a ridiculous "news service" on colour printed A4 pages with a supposedly curated selection of news in many languages, when in fact it's just a bunch of articles from Associated Press that no one reads --explain how this is a green initiative? On top of that, the hotel is tired: floor boards are swollen near the bathroom, bathroom did not have aircon vent on its own; room was very noisy (poor sound insulation); only 2 sockets which were also far from the bed; and a very uninspiring decor, in desperate need of a proper Ibis makeover. I was recently almost back to back to this one and a similar category Ibis in Madrid, and Madrid did everything right, plus they were much cheaper. More like a hostel than an Ibis hotel.
