FAVORITE CHATS AND GROUPS

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.12.7 update, we announced that WhatsApp was rolling out a favorites feature for the chats tab. This feature is designed to facilitate access to the most important conversations, allowing users to quickly find their favorite contacts and groups. Recently, the WhatsApp for iOS 24.11.85 update was released on the App Store. Currently, the official changelog doesn’t provide useful information regarding which new features are available in this version. However, it appears that WhatsApp now intends to offer iOS users the same opportunity to filter their favorite chats and groups as it does for the Android version.

The official changelog still highlights important enhancements like the ability to configure a passkey, as well as new filters at the top of the chat interface to quickly see unread messages and locate group chats. However, even though it’s not mentioned in the official changelog on the App Store, we can also confirm that WhatsApp is releasing a feature to allow users to choose their favorite chats and groups directly within the app.

This new feature will enable users to prioritize their most important conversations, making it easier to locate and manage frequently contacted chats and groups thanks to a new custom filter. With the introduction of the favorites filter at the top of the chats list and a new section to manage them within the app settings, users can efficiently organize and access their preferred contacts and groups, enhancing the overall user organization.

If you don’t have this feature, note that more accounts may receive it over the coming weeks, although it has not been indicated in the official changelog. Please stay ahead by regularly updating WhatsApp from the App Store and the TestFlight app to get this feature in the future in case you don’t have it after installing this update. By staying proactive in updating your app, you can ensure that you're always equipped with the latest and most advanced features WhatsApp has to offer.

A favorite chats and groups feature is available for iOS users who install the latest update of WhatsApp from the App Store. Make sure to install this update to enjoy a better user experience.
