The M4 powering Apple’s newest 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro models means that the company’s 13-inch and 15-inch M3 MacBook Air family does not have the fastest portable computing machines out there. However, both versions offer a ton of utility as they run macOS, but that is not the only reason why you should make one of these your daily driver as on Amazon, every single M3 MacBook Air has been discounted to its lowest price ever.
While we regularly witness price cuts on the smaller 13-inch model, even the 15-inch portable Mac is now substantially more affordable. The base model of the smaller M3 MacBook Air starts at only $899, while the bigger one costs $1,129. However, we only recommend these to students or those starting college since they can simply upload their documents to the cloud and access those files later in the day.
For those that can benefit from the extra memory and storage, the base models will make your everyday use highly limiting and might we add, frustrating. Thankfully, the 16GB unified RAM and 512GB storage models start from $1,329, and with four finishes to choose from, you now have a boatload of options at your fingertips. In terms of hardware, nothing separates the 13-inch and 15-inch versions apart except for their display sizes, so it really is up to you if portability is at the top of your priorities or increased screen real estate.
Both M3 MacBook Air models also share the same runtime, which is puzzling, especially when you find out that the 15-inch version sports a bigger battery. Then again, the larger display touts a higher resolution, so those figures make sense in the end. Now, if we can just have Apple hurry up with the launch of the M4 MacBook Air lineup, that would be the cherry on top.
