AMD has sped up driver support for its Ryzen 9000 & Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs, releasing the Ryzen Chipset driver with a new 3D V-Cache optimizer.
AMD Releases New Ryzen Chipset Driver Focused on Adding Better OS / Program Support & New 3D V-Cache Optimizer Ahead of Ryzen 9000 & Ryzen 9000X3D Launch
With the debut of AMD's Ryzen 9000 "Granite Ridge" desktop CPUs, the industry was a bit curious about the future of 3D V-Cache-based SKUs, and fortunately, AMD did provide us with an update previously, claiming that they are working on "cool differentiators." Interestingly, the firm has now pushed out a new Ryzen Chipset driver, which hints towards the fact that not only is the company committed to its lineup of X3D chips, but the firm looks to go one step ahead as well, supposedly integrating Zen 5 magic in the lineup.

It may be that Team Red is preparing to drop in support for its next-gen Ryzen 9000 and Ryzen 9000X3D series CPUs. We are aware that a Zen 5 and 3D V-Cache combination is in the works by AMD, and it's no surprise to say that they are going to be some of the best processors out there, considering the architectural lifts brought by Zen 5 along with the potential of having a 3D V-Cache onboard.
You can judge the capabilities of the previous X3D CPUs by the fact that Team Red has disclosed that their new Ryzen 9000 processors are on par with Zen4-based Ryzen 7000X3D SKUs in terms of performance. With AMD now planning to add cool innovations to their upcoming Ryzen 9000X3D series CPUs, one can only imagine the performance these chips will hold. Regarding changes within the next generation, Team Red might adopt a new approach, probably changing the sizes of 3D V-Cache stacks with individual processors, or they can max out on everything with dual 3D V-Cache, but that is already out of the equation for now.
If you are looking for a Zen 5 processor in the market, we suggest you wait for the debut of the Ryzen 9000X3D series CPUs. They are expected to pack some serious gaming performance, likely beating its "normal" variants. Meanwhile, the AMD Ryzen 9000 "X" chips will be some seriously good powerhouses for multi-threaded users, offering over 50% uplifts versus the best Intel chips on the market right now. So there's something for both gamers and content/rendering enthusiasts with the Zen 5 Desktop family.
