As mentioned, Apple Pay users in Hungary are reporting multiple small transactions through their accounts, some reaching as high as $1,500, as per the reports. The ongoing issue is prevalent and seems to be affecting most banks in Hungary. Affected users are piling up requests to their banks, requesting help and a resolution for the money lost. The banks have reported that the issue lies on Apple's end, and the company is potentially aware and is working on a fix. The OTP Bank in Hungary stated that "massive, unjustifiable debits" were made to cards at various banks, and the situation is still being analyzed as to what has caused the issue.

According to a statement issued by the Raiffeisen Bank's website, Apple is aware of the issue and is working to fix it. The website reads:

We inform our customers that due to a technical problem with an external partner, the bank cards of some of our customers may have been incorrectly charged by the Apple App Store. Our colleagues have contacted Apple officials, the problem is being resolved.

Some of the charges that were incurred were possibly due to subscriptions that were previously canceled. The amount withdrawn from a user's account also matches previous transactions, which suggests that there could be an issue with the code. Users have been canceling their cards to avoid false transactions in Apple Pay. It appears to be a server-side issue and will be fixed on the back end instead of Apple releasing an update for the iPhone or other devices. Apple will possibly fix the issue as soon as possible, and we will keep you guys updated.
