With the launch of AMD Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" Desktop CPUs fast approaching, motherboard vendors are gearing up for support on their respective AM5 platforms. At the moment, ASRock has just one motherboard that has received the AGESA 1.2.0.0 firmware and that's its flagship X670E Taichi which now features the 3.04.AS01 (BETA) BIOS update. As per the description, the new BIOS brings in support for the AMD Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" Desktop CPUs & there isn't a lot else mentioned besides that. The update weighs 0.29 MB more than the previous AGESA 1.1.7.0-based BIOS firmware which reflects the internal code changes.

From what we know, the AMD AGESA 1.2.0.0 BIOS firmware is the likely candidate for the most stable BIOS release before the launch of the Ryzen 9000 Desktop CPUs. For everyone who has a AM5 motherboard based on the X670E, X670, B650E, B650, or A620 chipset, they should update to this BIOS version to ensure the best stability and performance with the upcoming CPUs.

Besides the existing 600-series family, ASRock will also introduce its next-generation X870E & X870 motherboards. The company displayed a large array of 800-series motherboards during Computex 2024 which readily support the AMD Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" Desktop CPUs. These motherboards will be launching in late September, likely around the same time frame as the Ryzen 9000 X3D launch.
