Apple plans to make the iPhone 16 Pro models larger this year, which will be possibly the biggest design change coming to the lineup after the new Capture Button. There are various aspects of design that are being handled by Apple, and as per the leaked dimensions, the devices will not only feature slimmer bezels but also get taller and wider. The smaller Pro will jump from a 6.1-inch display to 6.3 inch, and the bigger Pro Max will see a similar jump from 6.7-inch to 6.9-inch.
iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max dimensions leaked, highlighting a bigger device altogether compared to the iPhone 15 Pro
The leaked dimensions shared by IceUniverse and Instant Digital show all aspects getting bigger except for one, and we believe it is for the better. As mentioned, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will get bigger from all four corners, but the bezels size will be reduced, making the flagships come with the smallest bezels on any smartphone, including the Galaxy S24 Ultra and Google's Pixel 8 series.
This is not the first time the company has opted to go for slimmer bezels, as last generation's iPhone 15 Pro models also came with a significant reduction in display borders. Apple aims to achieve this through the implementation of its Border Reduction Structure (BRS), which will make room for circuitry layout in a more efficient manner compared to the current models.
As we can see, the dimensions show that the devices will get taller and wider, while the bezels will grow smaller. We can presume that the devices will not be too big than the current models all thanks to the bezels and the width of the devices.

It was previously noted by Ice Universe that Apple's attempts to reduce the bezels on the iPhone 16 Pro models will make the flagships the narrowest devices on the market. It is surprising to see how the iPhone went from featuring the thickest borders to the slimmest over the years. However, it is worth noting that only if you are upgrading the device from the iPhone 13 or older models the bezels and the screen size will show major reductions, as the 15 Pro features slimmer bezels as well, and the differences will not be too evident.
If the enlarged chassis and the bigger screen do not entice you to upgrade, the iPhone 16 Pro models will also come with an improved camera sensor and a new Capture Button, which will respond to the device's video-taking capabilities. The devices will also be capable of handling on-device processing for the company's forthcoming AI features in iOS 18, which are scheduled to be announced at the company's WWDC event next week.
