The launch of the iPhone 16 will be Apple's stepping stone into the AI segment, as the devices will house dedicated hardware to support on-device processing. While there are numerous internal changes to be excited about, the company is also working to introduce its annual design and feature set upgrades. A tipster has now shared images of the iPhone 16 Pro cases, and on their first look, they show that the camera plateau will be huge.

The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models will receive their fair share of design variations, but the changes might not be radical, as the company is waiting to offer them with next year's iPhones. There will be improvements nonetheless, and it could appear in the design of the forthcoming devices. Tipster Majin Bu shared images of the iPhone 16 Pro cases, highlighting the camera cutout's size. This indicates that the rumored camera upgrades could make the camera setup a bit bigger than the current models.

As you can see in the images embedded below, the iPhone 16 Pro camera housing is quite large, taking up more than half of the horizontal space on the back of the device. This could be due to the addition of the new telephoto lens capable of 5x zoom, which will bring the device in line with the 'Pro Max.' Apple is expected to minimize the gap between the two 'Pro' models by reducing the camera differences.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max could come with improved sensors as well, possibly with a better telephoto lens to compete against the Galaxy S24 Ultra, but no official details are available at this stage. The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are reported to see an increase in display size from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches and 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches, respectively, and we believe the company should have implemented this change years ago to make the devices more distant from the standard models.

The general design language of the 'Pro' models will remain the same, but the standard models will possibly be the highlight of the event with their new vertical camera design. The company is potentially running in circles when it comes to the design, as the iPhone 16 is rumored to look pretty similar to the iPhone 12. Next year could be different, though, as the company is planning to replace the 'Plus' model with a new 'Slim' model. As for this year, the 'Pro' models would be Apple's first AI-capable devices with additional Neural Engine cores for on-device processing.
