Microsoft 365 Admin Center

Microsoft will enhance its 365 Admin Center with another new feature that offers new options to manage feature access settings directly from the platform.

It’s called the Feature Access management user interface, and with it, admins can use specific policies to manage which users can access certain features in Microsoft Viva.

With this new feature, the Redmond-based tech giant will allow managers to change these policies without resorting to Microsoft PowerShell cmdlets, making UI management in Viva easier.

Notably, admins can still use PowerShell to make these changes, and Microsoft won’t retire the option.

Here’s what the entry says:

Through the new Feature Access management user interface, admins will be able to manage feature access settings directly in Microsoft 365 admin center. Feature access management allows admins to use access policies to manage which users can access specific features in Viva apps, so you can tailor your deployments to meet your local regulatory or business requirements. Previously, these policies could only be managed with Microsoft PowerShell cmdlets. After this rollout, admins can choose to use either Microsoft 365 admin center or PowerShell to manage feature access. Existing policies set for an organization will persist and can be managed in both places.

The new Feature Access management user interface is rolling out this month, and it might prove to be one of the more valuable features released recently to the platform. Dozens of admins expressed frustration at Microsoft for the new features released for the 365 Admin Center, stating that it’s hard to keep up with them.

However, this one should make managing an organization’s infrastructure easier for all admins.
