Leaked Gingerbread for HTC Desire Z Available for your Modding Pleasure
Yes HTC Desire Z fans, rejoice because Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread) has arrived. If you head on over to XDA here you will find the goodies in question, supposedly a leak from HTC itself. HTC G2 owners can also use this leak if they wish to have the latest Sense release over the stock build that originally came with that phone.
What’s in this Release? Still Chewing Through the Gingerbread!
What we know so far is that there’s a so-so new radio included which provides better service but not so good battery life, and that the kernel has had a overhaul as well. People are still digging into the release to see what else has changed so any Desire Z owners out there should check out the thread to see if it is worth the release.
With a 800 MHz Qualcomm processor, 512 MB RAM, a 3.7 inch touchscreen and a QWERTY keyboard, the Desire Z has already proved to be quite a handy phone and a Gingerbread upgrade can help make it snappier and more feature rich (especially with the new Sense upgrades as well)
Anyone who does try out Gingerbread on the HTC Desire Z, make sure to tell us what you think in the comments below.
