Latest HTC Thunderbolt 3/17 Launch Rumor May Have Some Juice
The latest release date of the HTC Thunderbolt, March 17th, is looking less and less like a rumor. When you have a Regional Sales Manager for HTC tweeting the 17th as the launch date, who knows what to believe. We’re still lacking an actual announcement from Verizon but the signs are there. Could the Thunderbolt finally launch this week?
HTC Thunderbolt: Launch Tweeted, Deleted, Repeated
The tweet has since been deleted (in fact the twitter account is gone too!) but the excitement has not. Since its announcement at CES, Verizon has been pretty mum about the Thunderbolt. Despite its television commercials and ads in magazines and Best Buy flyers, they have kept an actual date under wraps. Well, they must have told the HTC rep some official news which led him to blurt to the world the release date.
And it’s not just the HTC rep posting a March17th launch on twitter. Someone claiming to be a rep for a Verizon store in Fishers, Indiana has also tweeted the 17th is a go.
Sketchy, I know. Nevertheless he provides an address and even has a Facebook page.
More HTC Thunderbolt Signs that Launch Lightning will Finally Strike
That’s not all. Verizon distribution centers have changed the Thunderbolt status from “on order” to “in stock”. We heard from HTC that the Thunderbolt was being shipped a few weeks ago. Are they now delivered and ready to sell?
And to top things off, Best Buy customers have been receiving email confirmations of their pre-order and also, get this, receiving calls to schedule their pick-up appointment this Thursday. We don’t want to get too excited but just how are we supposed to stay calm with all this news? All we can do is try to stay sane until Thursday. Good luck with that, and let us know if you have an HTC Thunderbolt in your hands on the 17th!
