Droid X To Get Official Gingerbread

The past couple of weeks have been an exciting time for Droid X owners such as myself. There have been multiple leaked versions of Motorola’s Android 2.3.3 MotoBlur Gingerbread released. The latest being the pictured .591 system version, the newer unreleased version is said to be completed and is rumored to be released on May 13th pending Verizon approval. The update is a breath of fresh air and the MotoBlur UI has been completely revamped to the point where it seems like a completely new phone. Gone are the PlaySkool like controls, it’s a grown up UI and this time Moto actually got it right.

I’ve been running a rooted version of leak for a few weeks and I must say I’m impressed with the new features and performance enhancements that have been added. It’s also great to see that Motorola continues to support their models as this is one of the first devices from last year to have Gingerbread available. We will definitely let you know as soon as it becomes available with a full review and explanation of changes.
