With the Galaxy Z Flip 5 this year, Samsung actually debuted a good number of changes and new features for this flip-style foldable. And one new feature that is going to be exclusive to the Galaxy Z Flip 5, is pretty cool.
This feature involves the camera, and your Galaxy Watch 6. It’ll likely be brought over to the older Galaxy Watches too, but for now, it’s Galaxy Watch 6 only. Basically, you can put your Galaxy Z Flip 5 in Flex Mode to use the outside camera to take a selfie, and then control it from your Galaxy Watch 6 on your wrist.
With this, you can frame you and whoever else is in the photo, properly, and then snap the photo. This way you’re not having to hold out your phone to get a good angle, and it looks more natural.
This sort of feature isn’t really new, however, what’s new here is that you can now do this in Flex Mode. Samsung has always allowed you to control your camera from your wrist, they are just expanding on it now.
Samsung working to make their ecosystem work even better, together
Arguably, one of the reasons that Apple does so well and sells so many phones, is because of the ecosystem. Their phones, watches, tablets, laptops, all work seamlessly together. And this here is another part of Samsung doing the same thing. Making your Galaxy Watch 6 work seamlessly with your Galaxy Z Flip 5.
This is what Samsung has been working on for the past number of years now. Bringing features to its Windows laptops, making it easier to use their phones, laptops and watches together. And of course we can’t forget about the Galaxy Tabs as well. This is how companies keep you on-board. Making it harder to leave a brand like Samsung, when you have all of your tech from them.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Watch 6 (and Classic) are available to pre-order today. They will be arriving on August 11.
