Smart Cat Is Determined to Get Paws on Dad’s Pizza Box at All Costs
Cats are a lot of things, but dumb isn't one of them. Nope, felines are pretty crafty when they want to be. But one cat surpassed even his human's expectations of how sneaky he could be when he was desperate to get to a pizza box on the counter top.
We didn't even know that cats like pizza. But we guess everyone likes pizza — why couldn't the family cat?
The cat looked like one of those mountain climbers scaling a cliff. We've always wondered why cats were so obsessed with hair scrunchies. Well it turns out they want them to help get onto the counter where their might be some yummy food.

The man shared a video of his cat doing their best to get to the tasty treat. The cat is definitely giving us Mulan vibes.
Thankfully, this cat isn't as strong as they might appear to be. The pizza is safe! But that doesn't mean that people in the comments section weren't cracking up at the attempt. "They compensate the lack of opposable thumbs with sheer spite," wrote one person. "My life would be so different if I was this determined," another commenter joked. "As someone who has gone through the same thing, the next step is clearly real baby locks. But be prepared. Mine figured those out too," added one person. "My cat learned this too. The fact that we have to baby-proof the house without actually having a baby," lamented another commenter.
Keeping Cats off the Counter
Why oh why do cats climb? It's one of their less-fun qualities. And for the less careful cats it can be a sure way to end up with a lot of broken stuff.
Cats climb the counter tops all the time. And yes — can be sort of a pain. Here are ways to keep them off the counters using a few tips and tricks.
The best thing you can do is keep counters temptation-free. That means clearing away all food scraps, dirty dishes, or anything that could entice your cat to climb up to the top. You may also want to install child-proof latches for cabinets that hold food.
Give your cat more places to perch. Your cat may just be curious. In which case giving them plenty of spots outside of the kitchen to climb may scratch that itch.
There's an old wives' tale that putting aluminum on your counter tops will keep your cat away, but in truth that's sort of hit or miss. Finding other ways for your cat to use those climbing instincts is probably more worth your time. Which unfortunately means you're going to have to put away that pizza box.
