This is a Japanese beach house, right on Nada Beach, that felt like home when we stayed in. The vicinity of the sanctuary makes it a very special place, and you should not miss the early sunrise above the tori! We also had a wonderful, early swim. The house is very well equipped for a family, everything you might need is inside (also coffee and tea, oil and vinegar etc); and if not, trust Tetsuo, the wonderful owner, to find it. Meeting with Tetsuo-san was great. He will share his vast knowledge and passion about his region and will spare no effort to make you feel confortable. We spent a full week-end here driving around the Kunisaki Peninsula (think exceptional temples and out of the way sanctuaries, superb fish to eat, small pristine castle towns...), and we would have loved to stay for longer.

A standalone unit located next to the host's house. The property is furnished well and reminded me of a personal bach/summer house, feels like home - loved it. The property is well equipped - a full-blown kitchen with everything you need to cook, a bathroom, a dining table, a fridge, free Wi-Fi, and free parking. The owner left some "welcome" ice cream in the freezer and then brought a watermelon he had grown in his garden as a welcome gift. Nice touch. Big supermarket store right next door - food, drinks, medicines etc. (cash only). Great location - close to major Katsuki attractions, not long drive to Beppu. The host is very friendly and helpful. At the end of the stay, he gave us a tour of Kitsuki samurai residences which was a great bonus. Thank you, sir, it was much appreciated. I highly recommend to stay here if you're visiting Kitsuki, Beppu or nearby areas.

This accommodation was absolutely perfect in every way. I cannot think of any ways to improve it. The house is very large, and would suit a large group. Multiple showers and toilets, a full kitchen and dining room. On site parking, and everything was absolutely spotlessly clean. Our host was amazingly kind and welcoming, and offered great advice about our stay in Kitsuki and our visits to surrounding areas. If I ever return to North-East Kyushu again I will stay here again. Situated 39 km from Beppu Station, Ryoan Fukinotou features accommodation in Bungotakada with access to a public bath. The setting, staff, rooms, meals and service were all exceptional. My family and I had a great time visiting. Thank you!

The breakfast was quite good and there were lots of choices. The coffee was good and you could get a strong coffee unlike in some other places we tried. Everything was super clean and looked very new.
