The apartment at Casa Branka is small but very well-equipped. When I booked the apartment, I thought there were two bedrooms, but there is only one with the possibility of four beds. We solved the problem by having our daughter sleep in the kitchen (there's enough space) while my husband and I stayed in the bedroom. The apartment has a large covered terrace with a table, a hammock, and deck chairs, so we spent most of our time on the terrace. Additionally, there is a beautiful view of the black sand beach and the sea from the terrace. We were welcomed by the host's friend, who was extremely kind; he offered us transportation to the shopping area and told us about some lovely hidden spots in San Antao, which greatly contributed to the comfort of our stay.

Isa and Jailson will do everything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. They also have a car for rent, essential if you want to explore the island. The pool is awesome, the location dreamlike. Simple but efficient accommodation. The fridge was filled with complimentary goodies. Recommended.

Our stay at Cap Azul was amazing! The location is absolutely incredible, with unbeatable sea views and the sound of waves as you sleep—pure relaxation. The photos don’t do it justice; it’s even more beautiful in person.

Sympathetic, small-scale family hotel with simple but attractive rooms. No unnecessary fuss, but everything you need is there (and works). Lovely private balcony/terrace overlooking the lush green courtyard, an oasis of peace in the middle of the rustic village of Paúl do Mar. Some good little restaurants within walking distance. A delicious breakfast is served on the roof terrace, with beautiful views of the surroundings and the ocean.
Special mention deserves Marco and his mother who made our stay extra unforgettable through their friendliness and helpfulness. It was a real pleasure to stay here.
Facing the beachfront, Black Mamba offers 3-star accommodation in Paul and features a shared lounge, terrace and restaurant. The property has a bar, as well as massage services.

I am writing this review 21.2.2023, more than 1 month after the end of my trip to Cabo Verde, so I will not remember all details:
Best was the comfort of the bed. Probably the best bed in all the many hotels and appartments. Great sleeping comfort in the double bed. I stayed alone there, it would have been a nice place for a group though. No idea if the other beds are as comfi. Very tasteful design of interior.
It is a nice place to stay for a night or two, when doing hiking around. Seems every now and then there are some parties / events also.
There’s nothing quite like waking up to the sound of swirling waves and the smell of sea air through your bedroom window. Beachfront accommodation comes in a variety of forms, from well decked-out resorts to secluded homestays and villas. Beach hotel amenities can include air-conditioned rooms, private terraces overlooking the sea and outdoor pools with adjacent bars.
We loved this simple guesthouse by the sea.
Warm welcome and a feeling of peace and utter contentment...
Good restaurants walking distance along the beach
Wooden interior gave it a beachhouse optic, beautiful! Mosquito nets in the bedroom (door and window + below door), basic kitchen utensils, secluded at the beach far away from city, giving it a Robinson Crusoe vibe! So far so good.
Clean, comfortable rooms with acces to a big private roof terrace. Nice swimming pool and sunbeds where you can relax in the sun or shade. You can take a walk over the beach to restaurant Sabores Ratatui or further into the city, which is nice. A taxi from the hotel to the ferry was 400 escudos.
Really sweet and accommodating hosts, the setting is otherworldly, it really feels like being on a different planet being surrounded by such a volcanic landscape. Peaceful sunrises with the singing sound of a couple buzzing bees and incredible sunsets, not to mention the night sky filled with stars. The house itself, situated just outside of Porto Novo, is beautiful and cosy too. The beach is right at the bottom and you can walk to the center by it. We immediately booked another night here for our return to Porto Novo.
