The hotel has a wonderful old-world ambience but has all the modern amenities. It is possibly the only hotel located inside the ISU campustown with everything conveniently reachable in walking distance. The rooms and bed are exceptionally clean and very comfortable, and the large windows provide wonderful views of the serene neighborhood. I also suspect that the hot breakfast served here (with eggs made to order) is possibly the best in Ames. Staff at the breakfast table are friendly and accommodating.

I loved that this is an old historic building with an interesting story. Robert , the owner, who is the only staff member is very interesting to talk to. He gave me a detailed history of the inn as well as Dubuque. The breakfast is amazing & exceptionally good coffee ( rare in America in my experience). Within walking distance of lots of sites, Monk bar which is good for a relaxed drink & close to restaurants. Easy parking

Dit hotel ligt aan de Interstate 235, tegenover Wells Fargo Arena, Hy-Vee Hall en Community Choice Credit Union Veterans Memorial Auditorium. We loved the front desk employees..I wrote their names down however I do not have my notes with me at this time.. the two ladies who were there on the day of our arrival were wonderful!
