In the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district of Berlin, close to East Side Gallery, Locke at East Side Gallery features a fitness centre and a washing machine. Our first stay at Locke at East Side came with high hopes—loads of positive reviews, beautiful photos online—and thankfully, it lived up to the hype. We only stayed a couple of days, but it left a great impression. The front desk team was fantastic—super friendly and helpful. They let us check in early, which was a lifesaver after a long trip with heavy bags. They gave us the full rundown, from café hours to a quick intro to the area, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. The design is spot-on: modern but cozy. The café overlooks the water, and the hotel’s location right in the East Side Gallery area adds this iconic Berlin vibe to the whole experience. Plus, being so close to Ostbahnhof is a huge bonus for getting around. Our studio room was clean, stylish, and well-equipped. We actually looked forward to coming back each evening. The little balcony quickly became our favorite morning coffee spot (thanks for the French press, Locke), with a nice view over the water. The wood and concrete mix in the room struck a perfect balance between warmth and urban style without trying too hard. Next time, we’ll probably go for a river-view room just to mix it up. Honestly, they nailed it. It was private, comfortable, and not at all pretentious. None of that stiff, ‘too cool for comfort’ vibe some hotels go for. Just a relaxed, thoughtful place that made us feel right at home. Locke at East Side—definitely somewhere we’d come back to.

I had a wonderful experience. The taxi pick-up service from Berlin airport was included in my booking, and everything went smoothly. I received clear instructions in advance, and right after I arrived in Berlin, I got a WhatsApp message. I was picked up and taken to the hotel without any delay. Since I arrived after their operating hours, they sent me detailed self-check-in instructions. I was able to check in smoothly on my own. I was thrilled to find that my room had a balcony overlooking a garden. It was incredibly peaceful, and I enjoyed spending time there both day and night. The view was quiet and beautiful, making it the perfect place to relax. Although the hotel is located beside a busy street with tram stations nearby, the moment you step inside, it's like entering a different world. All the noise is shut out, and you can't hear anything even with the balcony door open. I tried their breakfast, which featured a carefully selected variety of breads, cereals, cheeses, and ham. Everything was of the highest quality. I also rented a bicycle for 15 euros a day, which was very convenient for exploring the city. Additionally, they offer free coffee and tea in the lobby, along with croissants on occasion. I believe that places with good energy attract kind people. During my stay, I had the pleasure of meeting an elderly couple from Hamburg who were staying in the room next to mine. We had a delightful chat when we met on our adjoining balconies.

Easy to communicate with and very nice and helpful! We had a great experience staying at Carlotta apartments. Exactly like the pictures, spacious, extremely clean,beds are very comfortable. Close to public transit. Would definitely recommend staying here and would stay here again when we come back to Berlin.

The Good Place in Kreuzberg Berlin is situated in the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district of Berlin, 2.6 km from Checkpoint Charlie, 2.6 km from Potsdamer Platz and 2.6 km from Berliner Philharmonie. My two friends and I stayed at The Good Place from 9/21 to 9/25. The owner, Vincent, was incredibly helpful and kind in every possible way throughout our stay. On the first night, we arrived late and needed to do some laundry. Vincent promptly provided us with detailed instructions and answered our phone call right away when we had doubts about using the washing machine. He also supplied us with clothes hangers and racks to dry our clothes indoors. The place was spacious and equipped with all the necessary utilities. To our surprise, it even had a Nespresso machine with just the right amount of capsules for our stay, and a record player in the living room, which definitely added to the mood. The only tiny things to be picky about were that the double bedroom felt a bit humid and had a slight odor of humidity, and there was no elevator, so we had to carry our luggage up five flights of stairs, but we already knew this before we arrived, so isn't a big deal at all. The best part about Vincent was his great hospitality. He kindly recommended stores, sites, restaurants, and places to visit when I asked for suggestions on things to do in Berlin. Overall, he’s a very generous host, and I would definitely recommend this place to any friends visiting Berlin!

Offering a garden, a shared lounge and free WiFi, Pure Berlin Apartments - Luxury at Pure Living in City Center is a recently renovated aparthotel 200 metres from East Side Gallery and 2.8 km from... Brand new building, all utilities were clean and readily available, had a nice garden and terrace area that is free to use; toddler friendly; they had child feeding seat; child friendly fork, spoon and knifes; even some basic toys that attract attention of the child:) Even electrical plugs were covered with plastic plugs which is a great detail.

Very clean and new flat, comfortable bed, very fresh and delicious breakfast. If you never tried Miele, Dyson or Smeg you can do it there 👍
