The lady that owned the house was lovely! She went out of her way to make us feel welcome. We really appreciated her booking us into a restaurant in the area and telling us about the local onsen. I'm sorry this review has come so late!

Our host was very friendly and helpful. We arrived after 30km bicycling in pouring rain and she helped us wash and dry our clothes as well as made us feel home and welcomed. Both dinner and breakfast was included in the price and was very well prepared and tasty. Thanks for a lovely stay

Splendid house that we stayed during our Shimanami Kaido cycling mini-trip. Nicely renovated; softest futons we’ve ever slept on; having a washer and dryer was a plus, especially mid-cycling adventure. I can only imagine how nice the stay would be for dogs and their humans — there are so many amenities, from backyard to sofa steps!

Immaculately clean and aesthetic, would appeal to architects and designers. The proprietor is clearly a music fan. The fitout is brand new. We’d love to have stayed longer! It has a toaster-oven, microwave, kettle and small fridge. Lots of restaurants and a big supermarket nearby.

We loved this House and the location is unique! The pictures of this property are exactly as the property it is. To be honest we could not believe how beautiful the view was the following morning, even while the rain was coming down in buckets.
We were cycling from Onomichi (the Shimanami Kaido cycling road) and as we arrived on Ikuchi island we were recommended by the host even a place to eat out in Sedato town. The host was accommodating and answered promptly. We got a bit lost in trying to find the house due to the fact it was dark and it was raining. When we arrived we were very pleased to see that the host left some food in the kitchen and drinks in the fridge. But what left us speechless was their kindness. We arrived later than we originally wanted and we were soaked from the rain. I messaged the host to let them know we found the property and we arrived. They went to the trouble of going to the KFC 30 min away and brought us dinner. We had never had anyone do that for us anywhere we stayed before. They brought us ponchos as well! We were speechless with the care and hospitality received.
There was Coke cola, water and fruit juice in the fridge left for us. As well as noodle pots, butter, jam, and bread. There is bread bread-making machine and we saw the kit left and instructions so we could make our bread. Since the shops are not within walkable distance there is a cabinet right next to the front door as you walk in which has a sign on it saying SHOP. You can take anything out of the cabinet and put the money in a little container left on top of the cabinet.
We loved our stay and we decided next time we went back to Japan, we would book for more than one night. A few days would just be amazing to chill in this home on the waterfront.
For those on a budget, these cheap and cheerful hotels still have a lot to offer, with most offering WiFi and convenient locations. Popular with backpackers, many properties can be found in central locations and include comfortable rooms with private or shared bathrooms. You’ll also find a number of options which feature a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage.
This was a handy place to stay en route on the cycleway. It was our overnight stay cycling from Imabari to Onomichi, and a good place to stop for the night, as it meant the following day was shorter than the first day.
It was a guest house arrangement and self check in.
Very clean and well looked after, quite new having opened only a year ago.
I liked the map where guests put a sticker on their home country.
Location. Comfortable beds and a towel provided. The place was very clean. The showers were good.
Microwave and kettle plus plates and cups available and a communal fridge to use.
Great for a one night stop on the cycle route.
Great location for the cycle trail. The facilities were clean, tidy and we'll presented. A couple of really good restaurants close by. Really enjoyed our stay.
A cheap place to rest if you're on a bike trip. Check-in is automated, you get a code for the front door and your room.
