Located in Uinouchi, Next Chapter - Guesthouse - Kito features a garden, shared lounge, terrace, and free WiFi. Everything! The house is beautifully designed and we loved that it's different than most Japanese guest houses. It's lovely to have such a modern and cozy concept in a small town, away from the crowds. There is actually a lot of charm in the town and it was one of our favorite stops on a month-long trip to Japan. That is also because of Alrik, who manages the property. He was so kind, hospitable, and friendly! We felt welcomed as friends, not just hotel guests. He did everything we could to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. There is a beautiful forest around, the view from the top of the town is lovely, so is the walk by the river and sunset. The Shinto shrine was such a special experience too! Thank you, Alrik and Next Chapter for this beautiful stay! We will come back to the area just to visit the guest house again, especially if Alrik is still running it!

The large, airy rooms with beautiful views in quiet surroundings, in front of the beach, make for a pleasant stay. Even though the bathrooms are shared, there's a toilet inside the room and double wash bassins right behind the door. Free coffee/tea is offered. The whole place has been cleverly thought of to ensure a practical stay and provide for every guest's needs. The lady of the house is very friendly and charming. All this for a very reasonable price.

Great and friendly employees which where able to speak English well. One could see that they are investing a lot in modernizing, which is quite uncommon among the Ryokan we have been too. The dinner and breakfast where great.

Set in Minamicho, Kanchantei The Mainhouse features free bikes, garden, shared lounge, and free WiFi throughout the property. The host was exceptionally friendly and his place was beautiful decorated with the best futon and soft floor. And as an extra, he speaks very good English which makes everything so much easier. I can’t recommend this place enough

Comprising free bikes and a garden, Kanchantei The Tiny House is a recently renovated accommodation in Minamicho set close to Hiwasa Chelonian Museum Caretta. Everything! It was the best stay I've had in a while. Such a warm, welcoming, helpful host... Everything was absolutely amazing

Set in Mima, 41 km from Shiraha Shrine, PAYSAGE MORIGUCHI features views of the garden. Featuring a garden, the 3-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. A wonderful rest place close to the first temples on the 88 pilgrimage. Everything is super well thought out, modern and yet full of tradition. It is intimate with 5 rooms and in an Meiji era home with a beautiful neighborhood of similar structures. The Italian restaurant several doors down is also excellent.
