    The beach and early morning walks along the beach. Lovely sunsets and sun rises. I didn't like all the stray dogs especially around Durres beaches sometimes in packs. Most seemed friendly but its not what I'm used to. I didn't eat out on this occasion but all the bars and restaurants looked top notch. I loved the supermarkets and for some reason they were a lot cheaper down towards Durres beach areas than in the centre of Durres. Lots of site seeing can be done in the centre and there is a shopping centre (I didn't have time to look in there). You can go walking/hiking into the hills. I was on a solo trip and everyone was so helpful. I came by the mini Airport bus which was fine. It was hard to work out the local buses and they cannot be found easily using searches or apps on mobile phones. The buses are so cheap just one price to get around, you board and a ticket person will come to you for payment. I went in November it so was lovely and peaceful. I would go again around that time.

    Amazing historic city.

    Amazing historic city. Plenty to do, but also lovely just to relax and soak up the atmosphere. Lots of fantastic restaurants and cafes, didn't have a bad meal over our whole stay. Can't recommend booking a walking tour enough. It was a great way to find our feet and learn about such an interesting place.

    Beautiful beach and hot weather.

    Beautiful beach and hot weather. We walked up and down each day. Wide variety of bars and restaurants as well as gift shops/stalls. Our favourite place to visit every day was The Fisherman’s Net. The owner and staff are lovely friendly and welcoming people.

    Nice to walk around a normal city, not overrun by tourists. It was pouring rain one day - unfortunately not a lot to do indoors (No art gallery, cinema or live music - in the second largest city!)

    Probably unknown to most people, but seems to have been on...

    Probably unknown to most people, but seems to have been on the radar for Italians for many many years. This to me is the perfect place to visit in Albania. Near to Tirana airport, just a short bus ride away. A compact town of old and modern to explore and the beach life as well. Prices are quite reasonable and some of the best prices in all of Albania for beers and food and the capital is just a bus ride away too. The port separates the main stretch of beach and it's hotels from the old town though, but if you're happy to walk 20-30 minutes to get between the 2 parts then you'll get much more out of the city. King Zog's ruined palace on the hill is a great place for urban exploring an old, once grand building too and offers great views from the property.

    Durres is right on the coast.

    Durres is right on the coast. The beautiful long promenade is full of bars and restaurants and is very reasonable. The square is surrounded by lots of lovely shops and bars and is very pretty at night all lit up

    Very friendly owners, communicative English, room big enough for a family of 3. A/C in the room. Will definitely consider staying again should we decide to go back to Albania. 10-15 min walk to the beach, driving is not feasible as there is no parking near the beach. Recommend going to Portez Beach, only 12kms away, about 25-30min drive. Overall very positive experience, and great budget alternative to expensive hotels if you are looking for a basic place for your stay.

    Hotel staff were exceptional! Customer Service is hard to come by in Albania. It was on full display here. Front desk made check in/out a breeze. Restaurant staff friendly and helpful. Room was great. Comfortable bed. Large bathroom. Very clean. Double doors opening to large balcony. Free breakfast offers good selection to order. High quality. Hotel location close by Durres attractions and restaurants. Highly recommended and we will be back.

    10 days marvelously spent! Very friendly and helpful appartment owner - has taken us out for coffee in our first day. The appartment is tidy and comfortable. There are shops and bus stations to Durres and other places in Albania nearby. The beach is clean and sandy. There is a possibility to rent 2 sunbathing chaise lounges + 1 umbrella for 5 euros, and you get to use a beautiful swimming pool at Sol hotel.

    This is the best hotel we stayed at in Albania. Three pools, excellent food, stunning rooms, world class staff who went the extra mile on everything from food not on the menu to arranging special treats. I couldn’t find any faults in this hotel, it is immaculate, very welcoming and it made the last few days of our holiday exceptional. We couldn’t thank you enough!
