Hotel shuttle was really useful from the car park directly to the hotel. Great location and able to then walk around in the evening and morning before the day trippers arrive making the area busy.
Had a great view from the balcony over the main square.

Beautiful place, the views from Salzwelten (Salt Mines) view points are incredible, recommended tour! Take in consideration that the village is usually crowded and mostly one lane streets what make driving a bit difficult. Most of the places in front of the lake only accepts cash.

Hallstatt is an amazing place, totally worth it with all the views and hikes, and I was lucky with the weather considering that was November. However, the village is very small. You can visit the major highlights in 1 day and after 5 pm almost everything is closed. So, you need to be creative about what to do after that hour.

Beautiful town, in gorgeous setting!
Beautiful town, in gorgeous setting! Wish we had arrived earlier to enjoy checking out the little shops before they closed. One evening was enough for us to enjoy - small town. Had a delicious simple dinner and enjoyed the local pubs after tourists left and town emptied out. Had a nice chat with a local man. It was lovely!

there are soooo many tourists in Hallstatt.
there are soooo many tourists in Hallstatt. It has obviously made it onto the list of places to visit and great busloads show up. Must be a real pain to live in the pretty part of town. But the town is beautiful, I recommend a boat on the lake (only 35 euro for 4 (maybe 5) people to go where they will for an hour. Didn't go to the salt mine because it's so expensive but went on some very beautiful hikes and enjoyed St. Michaels Chapel - prettiest cemetary we'd ever seen, and a really interesting ossuary. The little self serve supermarket in town is cool and the prices reasonable. Lots of nice little shops and an interesting free museum under the sport shop.

Hallstatt has unbeatable views.
Hallstatt has unbeatable views. It's on a quiet lake with no motorized boating allowed. We stayed 3 nights which is perfect if looking to completely relax and enjoy nature. My only complaint about the town is the inconsistency of restaurant openings and finding food. Kitchens all close early, and most operating hours don't correspond to Google's opening/closing hours. I suppose this is because this town is mostly a day-tripping town, so when the sun goes down and all the day-trippers leave, it's pretty empty. So keep this in mind if staying and plan your meals so you know what is open.

Hallstatt is a must visit for travellers coming to Austria .
Hallstatt is a must visit for travellers coming to Austria .The views are just great and the whole village vibes are wonderful . Although it is heavy rush time during the day , but becomes quieter after the evening . To enjoy Hallstatt , one must stay atleast for 2 nights. The Salt mine is worth the visit and the food is great , although all the restaurants close very early at 9 pm.

Great location in the middle of Hallstatt.
Breakfast if you can still book it was at another hotel, which was not a great issue.
Restaurant in the hotel was good, ate there twice during our stay, but partly because there wasn’t much else open after 6.
Room was comfortable but could have felt cleaner, had to ask for the room to be cleaned and new towels after a couple of days.
The room was nice and very clean. The hotel was located in the heart of Hallstatt. Not a lot to do, but there are lots of little shops to peruse and if you walk out of town you'll find a great spot to get some really picturesque photos. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was fine, but was nothing special. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of continental options.
We had amazing views of the lake from our room, with a foreground of the wonderful hotel garden. The hotel is located right in the main square as well, and we could not have made a better choice. Breakfast was great, and you can have it in the garden by the lake. The rooms and the hotel overall felt very authentic to Hallstatt.
Hallstatt is a beautiful town. We went there to photograph the annual Corpus Christi procession which in good weather is on boats in the lake. Unfortunately, it rained. The restaurant of the hotel is outstanding, excellent fish from a the lake. The staff was exceptional - friendly, fast and efficient.
The location was very close to Hallstatt. The hotel itself is quite dated but comfortable. No aircon so needed to keep the room windows open. Lovely staff though.
