Sun-drenched and laidback, Perth is simply a joy to be in. However, the West Australian capital does have tourist attractions, such as the Colonial-era mint, important in the country’s gold industry. East is the WACA, a must-see for cricket fans, and the city is also mad for Aussie Rules football.
The city centre has the historic Government House and Supreme Court, both dwarfed by the ultra-modern skyscrapers a few streets behind. The best skyline view is from leafy King’s Park, near the War Memorial overlooking the Swan River below, named after its black swans. Across the river in Perth Zoo are more native animals including koalas, crocodiles and free-hopping kangaroos.
Boats to the zoo leave from the Barrack Street jetty by a sail-shaped bell tower. Other day trips from Perth include Rottnest Island and Fremantle, down the river in the opposite direction from Perth Airport.
The apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Perth are spread all over this fantastic city, interspersed with restaurants serving specialities such as western rock lobster and chilli mussels. There is also a wealth of bars, many playing the indie music that the city is known for. Local brews from the Swan Brewery and wines from the Swan Valley vineyards round off the evening.

The hotel and city were fabulous but my experience with booking.com now leaves me wondering if I should use another supplier. You were meant to make contact with myself or the hotel to confirm my requirements to leave early - so far I’ve heard nothing
I can’t comment on the local activities below as I spent time in hospital

The only disappointment is the room without air-con.
The only disappointment is the room without air-con. Most of our favourite places are not in Perth but North at Nature's Window, Skywalk, Leaning Tree, Shell Beach & Wave Rock. Kings Park and Mandurah (Dolphin Cruise) are winners as well.
We ate everywhere ; Chinese in Chinatown, Italian food in Victoria Park, Buffet at the Epicurean ...
Transportation is not a problem as long as you have an International Driver's Licence.

Friendly people , all willing to help with directions and advice. Public transport , both buses and trains excellent. Transperth staff exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Got mainly takeaway meals - Chinese , Thai , Turkish- in East Perth - all good . Highlight was King's Park ; spent a day there ; would go every day for a week if I had time to see it all. Not so impressed by the beaches I went to - Cottesloe and Scarborough. C was windy and waveless two days I went . Second time took an Uber to S from C ($25) and it was too rough for swimming, only good for board surfing which I wasn't doing. Overall I had a great time and I'll be back.

I am from Perth - I was staying in another accomodation due to renovations but I absolutely love it here and still head out to explore even if I am in a different part of the city. It was great to have such close access to the Swan River for walks and to see the local wildlife.

We picked a lovely room, larger than most overlooking the river.
it was worth it as we like space.
The pool was a bit of a disappointment. We like to swim for at least 15 minutes. can you do an exchange with another hotel to rectify the small pool problem.
Casino area for theatre. We saw "Wicked and the theatre was perfect"

We stay at The Mantra on Murray whenever we visit Perth. Staff are really helpful and pleasant and the hotel is always clean. The Studio apartment has everything we need for our stay (crockery, cutlery, pans, washing up liquid, sponge and drying towel). Tea/coffee/milk container is re-filled whenever required. Everything we need in the city is right on the doorstep... underground station, supermarket, bars and eateries and a variety of shops to suit all budgets are only 2 minutes walk away.
Good location close to airport and has plenty of options for food which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel, friendly staff, Big room and with kitchen sink microwave and pretty much everything you need first time staying there was really good I fly to Perth for work often this will be my ho to moving forward
Good location close to restaurants and within an easy walk to Perth CBD
Decent size for a studio apartment, which was clean and well equipped
Bonus was a good sized balcony and the ability to have fresh air in the room unlike hotels where you are stuck with Air Conditioner all the time
Good size shower
it’s not a hotel but a small number of en suite room / apartments in a lovely building in central Perth. The room is big enough with good facilities and some thoughtful and practical touches that were very appreciated. I was also able to leave my case while I explored Perth after I’d checked out.
