Sydney city is a complete buzz from the first signs of sum hitting the Opera House peaks to the late evening where street music, people milling drinking and eating drift across everything. The council have made everything so accessible through light rail, bus, train network that actually works in outstanding people moving and activating all areas of the CBD. Sydney is super swish and uber relaxed at the same time and the constant signs of early colonial imprint are everywhere. They need to brush up on Aboriginal presence and history in the city though - it is kind of token at the moment and would enrich the heritage of the city immensely.

We were visiting relatives. So it was a family visit. Ferries are great. We did eat at the Watsons Bay Hotel which was good and also at Pony at the Rocks which we thought was way overpriced. We had a lovely Indian meal in Manly Ashiana Indian Restaurant . Breakfast at Bluewater on Manly Esplanace is also great.

We live 1.5 hours out of Sydney, so the inter-city train service is vital for our visits to Sydney city. Once in the CBD, the light rail is a great way to move around. The ferries at Circular Quay are linked to all Sydney Transport services except for the fast ferry to Manly (privately run). Use the slow ferries and enjoy the harbour sights. Get an Opal card or use a debit-credit card and you can travel pretty much anywhere in the network seamlessly. Note: the link to Sydney Airport (domestic and international are separate stations) are privately owned so the cost is higher but cheaper than a taxi or Uber.

Great city, so much to do and see, the rocks, circular quay, opera house, harbour bridge, Barangaroo, Darling Harbour, China Town and the CBD and that is without jumping on the light rail to venture further, So many pubs and restaurants to experience, very easy to spend a week in Sydney,

Excellent location - short & easy walking distance to Darling Harbour / ferry wharf & Crown Barangaroo, within moderate walking distance to Circular Quay & Opera House via Observatory Hill Park or Argyle Street, close to CBD shopping. While contact with staff was limited they were helpful and obliging. The expressway above the building did not present any noise issues for us.
