The concierge Shawn was exceptionally friendly and attentive. The house is decked out beautifully for the holidays, and we appreciated all of the touches in the room such as the welcome snacks and beverages.
The included breakfast is light (croissants and juice), but based on the off season pricing we were more than happy to check out the local restaurants for something more substantial.

Restaurant served spectacular meals every dinner we ate there. Once we ate there, we kept eating there as the food was so good. The steak was so good my wife had it twice. The lamb was the best I have ever eaten, so tender that it was served with a bread knife as nothing heavier was necessary. Vegetables cooked with just the right amount tenderness.

Picton and Prince Edward County is suitable for short stays, ~4. Some of the attractions are not open in the winter. The location's activities are heavily skewed towards three-season summer activities. The Royal Canadian Navy archives are in Picton as well as a huge number of books on naval and boat things. The restaurant at Merrill House has an amazing chef.
The restaurant at Merrill House has an amazing chef. We had an outstanding dinner and breakfast. Food was like music in my mouth. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The Inn is a beautiful old mansion with cool modern art. Pictor has a lot to offer and so close to many attractions. Would recommend lake on the mountain, sandbanks and waupoos winery.

To be honest, there were not much restaurant so, the price is a bit higher and difficult to find the place during the pick time. There is one steak restaurant recommended by hotel, I had horrible experience. The price is very high comparing the portion of the food and unfriendly staffs. (I prefer the KEG) For the next time, I don't want to make the hotel reservation in Picton. I would suggest to go to Kingston instead.

It's a nice place. Nice and clean. It's an old house, so the floors squeak. Not a big deal. It is a self check in and check out. I know there were "owners" there, we saw them when we arrived, but that was it. The phone left as contact did not answer. Emails about early check in were not replied. We checked in about 2 ours early and it was fine. Simple room (yellow rrom - twin bed and private bathroom) but they didn't mention the bathroom was in the hall, not in the room.Oliveira - Scored 8.08.0

Picton is a picturesque town with so many things to see and do for all ages. Wineries, galleries, beaches, restaurants, breweries and so much more.
