Truly Unforgettable Stay at The Chedi
From the moment we arrived at The Chedi, we knew we were in for something special. The seamless blend of elegance, tranquility, and impeccable service made this one of the most memorable hotel experiences we’ve ever had.
The design of the hotel is simply breathtaking—sophisticated yet warm, with a perfect balance of contemporary luxury and cultural charm. Every corner of the property is meticulously curated, from the serene water features to the carefully selected decor that exudes understated opulence.
Our room was an absolute sanctuary. Spacious, beautifully appointed, and with a view that took our breath away, it felt like stepping into a dream. The plush bedding, high-end amenities, and thoughtful touches—like a personalized welcome treat—made us feel truly pampered.
The dining experience at The Chedi was nothing short of exceptional. Each meal was a culinary masterpiece, blending local flavors with international finesse. Whether it was a lavish breakfast spread, a poolside lunch, or an exquisite fine-dining experience, every bite was a delight.
Speaking of the pool, it was a highlight of our stay. Whether lounging by the iconic long pool, enjoying a refreshing swim, or simply soaking in the serene atmosphere, it was pure bliss. The spa experience was equally divine—a perfect retreat for relaxation, with treatments that left us feeling completely rejuvenated.
But what truly sets The Chedi apart is its staff. Every interaction was warm, professional, and genuinely caring. They anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was flawless.
Leaving The Chedi was the hardest part of our trip, but we know we’ll be back. If you’re looking for a luxurious escape that combines elegance, world-class service, and an atmosphere of pure serenity, The Chedi is an absolute must.

The hotel is a 300year old house. This has its charm yet also its limitations. If you are taller than 190cm, you may not be comfortable due to low ceiling height.

Goethe famously said about Andermatt: “of all the regions I know, this is my favourite”. Hotel Bergidyll proves Goethe’s preference. Wonderfully located very close to ski lifts and the lovely village centre, it provides a cozy stay with very attentive staff and comfortable rooms. If Goethe’s recommendation is not enough, maybe the fact that Sean Connery stayed there while filming Goldfinger will convince you that this is the place to stay in Andermatt.

Seems to have been recently refurbished to a high standard. In particular the top floor breakfast room was nice and airy with great views. Bedroom was spacious and well equipped.
Location was perfect for ski lift and station. Very good breakfast… all staff pleasant and helpful.

It's super centrally located near to everything so that's a plus. The heating in the room was just right and there was hot water in a shower that worked. The windows cut out most of the sound from the street but I guess you'd be a bit hot in the summer. I knew the negative points about the room in advance and was really happy not to have to sleep down in the valley in Göschenen and drive up every day. That's really what I wanted.
Set in Andermatt in the Uri region, 150 metres from Andermatt ski lift, The Base Andermatt offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking.

The host is very friendly and gave us all the instruction and answers all our questions promptly. The apartment it’s massive with a lot of space and it’s very clean and cosy as soon as we walked in. We love the fireplace although we didn’t use it but it’s so cute to have it in the flat and the winter balcony the view it’s breathtaking with the window open. We watched the sunrise today in the morning from the massive window in the living room it was so relaxing. There’s everything you need in the apartment. All kitchen appliances, cutlery, toaster, kettle, etc. We were so chill having a glass of wine and watched Netflix and sat on the sofa. The bed it’s really comfy too we both had really good sleep. The ski room spare room it’s so useful to put the ski equipment. On the way up from the station the view on the slope it’s stunning you can look down the whole town. Will recommend to stay here.
On average, 3-star hotels in Andermatt cost HK$ 2,240 per night, and 4-star hotels in Andermatt are HK$ 3,957 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Andermatt can on average be found for HK$ 13,315 per night (based on Booking.com prices).

We visited Andermatt at the very end of the summer season, in September. It was wonderful!!! No crowds anywhere but warm sunshine and cool clear air everywhere. We did excursions to the Furka Pass and up to the summit of the Gutsch mountain and the mountain beauty was staggering. There is also a lovely, mostly flat streamside foot trail up the valley for several miles, and we enjoyed walking amidst the cows......

Andermatt is a cosy little ski town that is far from the party vibe of somewhere like Verbier. The benefit of that is it's not as busy and the prices are a little more "affordable" shall we say (keeping in mind it's still Switzerland!). While it feels much smaller its very easy to get to by train - the journey there is breathtaking! The little train that takes you directly from mid-mountain to the other resorts close by is brilliant as well. Only thing missing might be a bit more of an après-scene on the mountain I would say (if you're into that). Also should be noted they are building a huge new village next to the old village which will be awesome when it's complete. But until that point there are a few cranes and some drilling noises that may bother some people (didn't bother us!).

Andermatt is a lovely town that includes an exceptional ski resort. The town itself has several lovely restaurants, pubs, wine bars, coffee shops. There is a small, but well stocked grocery store as well. The locals were very kind. Felt very safe. Family friendly.

For the two days I was there, I loved Andermatt. It has a spectacular setting amongst stunning mountain scenery. I stayed in a lovely guesthouse (Zum Sternen) in the picturesque village centre with a beautiful Chapel just above the square and typical mountain river flowing nearby. Full of colour with local and Swiss national flags flying, and beautiful wooden buildings. I will definitely come again...and again.....

Andermatt is a small alpine village, ideally located for the Gotthard Pass, Furka Pass and Oberalp Pass. The village is flat and easy to get around by foot, bike or car. Excellent train connections including the Glacier Express. Plenty of bars and restaurants. Ideal for cycling and trail running.

The room was huge and absolutely stunning, the bed super comfortable and the hotel achritecture beautiful. The breakfast had a wide selection of options. The Spa was enormous and had many pools, two saunas and two steamrooms. The hotel has an ideal location in Andermatt, close to the train station and the gondolas for skiing.
The nicest Hotel I have ever stayed in.
Spotlessly clean with modern furnishings and fittings and a beautiful breakfast room upstairs serving a continental breakfast with good Swiss hot chocolate !
Andermatt is a gem of a town in a breathtaking location, we stayed 2 days as part of an Alpine road trip.
The staffs at the hotel are extraordinary friendly and helpful. The hotel is so close to the train station which makes our journey so much easier especially we have to drag our luggage during the heavy snowing weather. The steaks offered at the restaurant is excellent.
Beautiful hotel, right in the city center and walking distance from everything. Staff was nice and welcoming, our room was modern and spotless clean. Rich and good quality breakfast. Nothing to complain at all!
