Located in the 'old' part the town around 10mins gentle up-hill walk from the train station (perfect for Bernina Express). Comfortable, spacious and quite rooms. Very good breakfast. A warm and friendly welcome from the reception staff.

Lovely big choice for buffet breakfast, location wonderful as within 5 mins walk of Chur train station and lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Room recently refurbished and lovely big bathroom, shower was fantastic. Best place we stayed in on our trip in 4 different properties. Really friendly reception staff. Nothing too much trouble and evening reception staff (I think Aaron?) ran the bar and we enjoyed a few drinks there with other travellers. Would definitely return. Thank you.
The Hotel Franziskaner is housed in a charming historical building in the Old Town of Chur. The famous Churer Obertor is 50 metres away, and the train station can be reached on foot in 8 minutes.

A very warm welcome! Very good localization, in the centre of the city. The room has a very beautiful view of the square and the mountains. Very good breakfast and an excellent dinner at the cosy restaurant. Thank you Ana!

Hotel was very old which was fine but not modernised. Room and bathroom very small. Xmas decorations still on breakfast table. Sockets in room didn't work, plus bedside light didnt work. The pillows were very lumpy and basically non existent.
No toaster available at breakfast. Had to pay extra for a cooked breakfast i.e. scrambled eggs.
The Hotel Stern Chur is a historic, 360 years old hotel in the centre of Chur. The Veltliner Weinstube zum Stern serves typical Swiss cuisine. Free private parking is available on site.
Pleasant town with an interesting and picturesque old part.
Pleasant town with an interesting and picturesque old part. Good for half day looking around. A cable car ride is an option too but it looks like it’s expensive, even if I could work out the pricing. Good for an overnight stay before or after taking the Bernini Express.

We liked to old town
We liked to old town
We only tried one restaurant and to be honest it was an awkward experience because the food order was incorrect and when we pointed this out the manager became very aggressive and tried to blame us and/or talk over us. Feedback is clearly not welcomed unless it is fulsome and positive. OK except that less than perfect feedback is more useful to a business.
The food was terribly overpriced for what it was, too.

We could have done a couple of full days in Chur as we spent one day at Pradasher skiing and tobogganing and we would have also liked to visit Brambruesch.
We didn’t get the opportunity to walk around the old town of Chur which we would have liked to.
Restaurants in the city were great.

Chur is just a lovely historic city with lots of places to see and a nice museum. An abundance of nice shops if you enjoy shopping and many nice restaurants and cafes. Two days is plenty, but if you intend to stay longer, you could take the cable car up Brambruesch or take the beautiful scenic Rhatische Bahn to Arosa.

Chur is beautiful.
Chur is beautiful. Originally chose it in order to take the train to Filisur and then it was Sunday so didn't really get to explore enough. I knew as soon as I arrived I should have planned for more days, however, I had a plane to catch in Zurich. Next time. Also took the bus from Milano after the overnight train from Salerno - the bus afforded excellent scenery and a comfortable trip.

This hotel was a perfect one night stay to board the Bernia train the next morning. Perfectly located in centre of Chur old town, which was very picturesque and a 7 min stroll to station next morning. Breakfast was good and varied. This hotel did not serve evening meal but there were plenty of restaurants nearby. Staff were friendly and helpful. Beds comfortable. In all I highly recommend this hotel in Chur.
Lovely hotel in excellent location for the train and the old town. Wonderful breakfast. Very helpful staff. Chur is attractive and there are great connections to beautiful nearby places. We only stayed one night but it deserved longer. Accommodation is expensive in Switzerland so this hotel although our most expensive was good value in this lovely location.
The hotel was situated in the town centre, restaurants in the immediate vicinity and the staff at the hotel were extremely helpful! Just to note if you plan to visit Switzerland, you'll need the correct plug adaptor!
The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring Chur and the Bernina Express station just a short 5 min walk away. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast superb!
