Our room was not available or it was double booked so the Hotel upgraded us to another larger room at the same rate. The Hotel is Centrally located to the Alps, which made it easy to get around. Close to hiking trails and the view was wonderful. Breakfast was fresh and very good.

Wengen was a car-free village, so other than electric work vehicles, it was a quiet easy place to get around. Being 12 minutes or so to Lauterbrunnen from a train that runs every 30 minutes was great for getting around the area particularly to Murren/Gimmewald and Interlaken. In addition, the tram to Mannlichen being just a short walk away was incredible for access to hiking and getting to a lot of places like Grindelwald and Jungfraujoch. All in all a great place to use as a base location in addition to exploring.

A beautiful little town with stunning views.
A beautiful little town with stunning views. So many trails, walks and activities. Lots of dining options, we used the local Spar for fruit and sandwiches before hiring trail bikes to cycle to Kleine Scheidegg. The trains run regularly and you can get anywhere quickly and efficiently so it's a good base.

The town was beautiful and picture perfect.
The town was beautiful and picture perfect. The views are amazing. No cars and very charming.
Wengen is perfect for visiting many towns in the Bernese Oberland region. It is great for doing some easy but also very challenging hikes.
If you plan to visit the Jungfraujoch, it is great location as your base.
There were a few stores to buy food and essentials but there is no pharmacy. There were quite a few restaurants to choose from in the town including ones in the hotels.

Wengen first blew my mind when I stepped out the train as the view of the valley was amazing. The views from almost anywhere in the village are picture-worthy. There is a public swimming pool where you pay 6 frank to enter and have amazing views of the mountains.

We felt very welcomed the moment we stepped into Hotel Bären. The room was set up in such a cosy and homely manner and our young children loved it. The breakfast spread was wonderful and we enjoyed it very much.
We had dinner twice at Bären restaurant The service and food served is truly outstanding that it certainly belongs to it's number one ranking in Wengen. Our best meals and stays are truly at Hotel Bären and we hope to be back soon!
Thanks to Therese, Billy and team for making our stay absolutely memorable!
The staff were all very friendly, patient, and nicely answered our inquiries, the hotel has a considerate pick-up service for check-in, and you can leave your luggage at the hotel after check-out and they can send your luggage to Wengen station
We lived in a room with a mountain view and the scenery was awesome, you also have a big balcony where you can enjoy the mini bar (tea and coffee) provided by the hotel
The breakfast is also nice, you have many fresh choices :)
The location of Alpine Rhue Vintage Hotel at the top of the town (Wengen) provided a breathtaking view of the alps (including Jungfrau) from the balcony doors. The premium room was spacious and comfortable. The cable car from Wengen to Mannlichen is mandatory in your visit. You can take a second cable car at the top through the valley to Grindewald for even more spectacular scenery. There was not many people (early September) around so we had the Alps to ourselves.
The hotel, location, the staff, our room...everything was amazing. We actually didn't want to leave. Our stay was very comfortable, pleasant and we really had no complaints. This hotel would be our pick when we return to Wengen!
Really friendly family run hotel. The 4 course dinners are good value for Switzerland and quite fun! They cater for vegetarians too. Beautiful alpine architecture and views. Highly recommend!
