Good-sized apartment, perfect for our family if 3, with gorgeous views over Mittenwald and Karwendel with a well-equipped kitchen and lovely bathroom. It was great to watch a concert from our balcony on our last evening there. Although a parking space is included, we opted to arrive by train and went everywhere locally by foot or public transport. Lovely walks in surrounding area and easy access to Karwendel cable car, chairlifts and Leutasch gorge walk.
Option to purchase a selection of drinks (honesty box) is a nice touch.

A town straight out of the picture books.
A town straight out of the picture books. We loved browsing the shops, trying loads of cafes and generally wandering around. The chair up Kranzberg was fun although the restaurants at the top were all closed so we struggled a bit for food and drink. We came down on the mountain carts (twice) which was thrilling. Loved the free concerts in the spa park, Leutasch Gorge, Trip up Karwendel, spas in Seefeld, Leutasch and Kochel Am See. The Museum of Bavarian Life near Kochel was a highlight and our day up Zugspitze unforgettable

Charming historical town, seemed to be mostly local tourism.
Charming historical town, seemed to be mostly local tourism. Great hiking, waterfalls, and traditional Bavarian food. We walked most places but there is public transport easily available. Kitchens at restaurants close rather early (~8pm), so just make sure you eat before then if you're hungry!

There’s almost nothing open here when the train drops you off. No taxis, so we had to walk & missed check in time as a result. No restaurants to be seen near the accommodation, and no way to get to the ones that maybe were open (or maybe not) elsewhere. This was VERY expensive for very little service and amenities. If I have to rough it and prepare ahead and bring groceries, fine, but then the cost should reflect that.

This place is lovely; the german side of the alps has something unique and Mittenwald has its own special character. The town and its surroundings are all easily explorable on foot and the public transport is so good that you don't need a car. Innsbruck and Munich airports are both easily connected and Garmisch is close by. Karawendel and Zugspitze lifts give panoramic views of the Alps and a good selection of restaurants finish the day off nicely!

Beautiful town with lots of things to do.
Beautiful town with lots of things to do. The scenery is spectacular, so many hiking and cycling options. The town is picturesque and has lots of beautiful little art and jewellery shops. The violin museum is great even if you don’t know much about violins! Lots of nice eating options. The people were really friendly. Next time we’ll stay longer.

the location was perfect! From the balcony it seemed a distance to walk to town but this was not the case. 5 minutes and we were in the heart of the town to look at the shops and have a fabulous meal! I have stayed in Mittenwald before and this was my sister and niece first time. WOW factor and spacious room, soooo clean and welcoming. We instantly had dibs on our rooms. Parking was convenient and covered parking. Fabulous view from our balcony and overlooked entire Mittenwald town homes covered with snow.
Very comfortable room with a separate but private bathroom (best of both worlds!) and a lovely little balcony with a beautiful mountain view. The hotel is a short walk from the town centre, and an easy walk to a beautiful lake. Wonderful breakfast!
